List of Brooklyn Body Works Physical Therapy's Reviews
Chelsea is an amazing PT - have been seeing her for two years for pelvic floor. Would highly recommend!
Excellent Physical Therapy by highly skilled therapists; professional and caring staff. Great atmosphere 👍
I've been seeing Chelsea Wheeler for the last year for pelvic floor treatment for endometriosis. I highly highly recommend her. She brings with her a calming vibe that immediately makes you feel at ease around what can be an uncomfortable treatment. She's become the biggest advocate on my case always encouraging me to never give up and has gotten me to another surgery in one piece. I'm also more confident in my recovery post-op knowing she's on my team. Finding a physical therapist who is knowledgeable about endometriosis was a feat and Chelsea stays up to date on endo, which really impressed me when I first met her. I'm truly so grateful for Chelsea being on my team and to our work this year! The entire BBW staff has been amazing and the facility is nice with three private rooms and is not overcrowded.
I rarely leave reviews but I must for Matt, Chelsea, and the crew at Brooklyn Body Works. I was scared to get shoulder surgery, mainly because of the horror stories I had heard about the recovery. But those people didn't have BBW! They made it so much easier and less scary than I could have imagined. They worked with me to build back my previous mobility and even better strength. They're incredibly talented, customize each session to where I was at, kind, and have lots of experience I greatly benefited from. The best! Highly recommend.
I've been to about dozen PT clinics over my lifetime across SF and NYC.. but Brooklyn Body Works is by far the best. There are many PT Clinics that operate like factories and just try to pump clients in and out, but Brooklyn Body Works goes the extra mile in personal care and rehabilitation. Alina works magic and has single-handedly kept me from entering the operating room. I can't overstate how grateful I am for their help with my overall well being.
I called the main contact number on the website to book an appointment. I provided my name, insurance card, and the therapist I would like to see for my evaluation. I was told that it would take 48 hours to get back to me with an appointment date. A week passes by and there is still no contact, so I call this office as it has the Alter G machine that I need. I am met with a very rude and snappish receptionist. With her clear love for life, she doubts whether the validity of everything I ever did. She repeatedly asks my name, number, as well as insurance (all which had already been provided during my first call and I also repeated for her). They had nothing on file and made the excuse of the other office having the info. How does a business past 2000 not have simple data entry logistics and data infrastructure set up? When I am ready to give my insurance she refuses it, despite insisting on it repeatedly only moments earlier. Then, when I inquired why she requested the information so vehemently and now is refusing to take the information, she muttered "Oh God". Really novel and cutting edge customer service. Then she put me on hold and brought the supervisor on her own accord. The supervisor was very aggressive, condescending and asked me to repeat the same information again and acted as if I was inconveniencing them. She also complained that my phone was "staticky", I had no such problem speaking to other people on the phone the whole day. She supposedly called the other office and they said they have none of my information. There are so many pt offices who care and respect their patients, avoid this business as they clearly are more interested in disrespecting patients than providing any form of service. Update: The owner replied to this review and wants the 1 star review taken down. He claims my review is "one sided". Reviews are always one sided as there is no way for anyone to include the other party's "side". I am a singular person; thus I, or any other human being can only provide a "one sided" review. He also said I should have called him. Since when is it the responsibility of the client to call the business owner? Especially when the aforementioned client has called on three separate occasions to make a simple appointment and spoken with the supervisor? So you want a misstreated client the burden of calling you and add to their sunk cost in time? I left my information with 4 different employees, why did the owner not call me instead of placing the responsibility on me? At this point it is hypocritical and indicative of the duplicitous nature of the owner, who's real and only concern is deleting the one star review. He also has a problem with "my line by line reanactment". It is not a full reanactment and actually a curtailed synopsis, as I do not have the time to write every single detail of his employee's incompetence and poor behavior, which would span many pages. The review is factual. I am under no obligation to resolve a matter that is as simple as patient intake. If you are saying I am not being truthful I suggest you take legal action and pursue litigation. I would be happy to show how accurate my review is by pulling the phone records. The review stays. The public has the right to know of negative experiences, not only positive ones. You have no legal, moral, or logical basis to ask or imply the review be taken down. If you want to censor bad reviews then you are being dishonest to your clientele. The owner labels my review as "unfair". The only way a review can be unfair is if it is untrue. The records show it is true. You are people? Well, I would hope so. That's nice, and as people we must learn to take responsibility for our poor actions and poor behavior. This is not personal. This is my experience told factually. If you have had over 10,000 clients, why do you have only 11 reviews? Especially when some of your competitors have hundreds? Also, there is no matter to resolve, if a client does not like the service they simply move on to another provider to get better service.
I can't recommend Brooklyn Body Works enough! After trying (and being disappointed with) many different PTs, I fortunately found BBW! Throughout the course of a year and a half, I worked with both Matt and Sang after a broken femur. Both of them were incredibly helpful, thoughtful, and thorough in helping me through each new phase of recovery and strength building. BBW is different than many other PT places. At BBW you actually get personal time with the therapist (NOT sessions where the therapists are managing multiple patients at once) - making sure you're doing the right exercises and doing them correctly. I highly recommend BBW for anyone needing physical therapy!
I see Chelsea for pelvic floor physical therapy and have seen considerable improvement. Highly recommend!
I worked with Chelsea Wheeler for about 6 months on a pretty severe pelvic floor injury. Before meeting with Chelsea I had seen 4 other PTs and was feeling ready to give up and I’m so grateful I found Chelsea. Even if you have to pay out of network it’s worth it! She is an extremely talented, kind and thoughtful. I only wish I had found her sooner. I’m grateful to be fully recovered and have found the help I needed! She’s also a mom and extremely empathetic to how hard a postpartum recovery can be.
Excellent place! Everybody is nice, professional, knowledgeable, and they give you a lot of time. The office is great, very well equipped, full of light and clean. I went a few times for back pain and other issues and I already feel the difference.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
