Very Friendly And Straight To The Point, No Nonsense Doctor. Tells You How It Is And Recommends The Best Option Moving Forward. Would Extremely Recommend If You Want The Best Possible Recovery.
Disappointing appointment with Dr Edelstein ( hand surgeon). Appointment was rushed! He introduced himself and his very next words were that he would not do a revision surgery without discussing my prior history. Offered very little in terms of how I should proceed if he did not want to do surgery. Took elbow x ray and did not offer the results. Clearly can find better hand surgeons who show more interest in providing useful information and concern. The reception area is chaotic and better organization is needed.
Dr. Edelstein is an Excellent doctor. He takes his time to listen to his patients, and offers plenty of options. I recently had a surgery with him which was very successful. I would definitely recommend Dr. Edelstein to family and friends.
Saw Dr Edelstein at the Bay Parkway location for tendonitis on my wrist. He gave me a cortisone shot to “relieve the pain”. His shot caused a pointy like bump on the side of my wrist which I would have accepted had the pain disappeared…instead the pain on my wrist increased tremendously to the point that I couldn’t even pick up my cell phone without being in tears. When I called the office to follow up, I was told that he was on vacation and to take ibuprofen even though it didn’t help. My wrist was visibly swollen and warm to the touch for several weeks. I decided to go to a different Dr (this time from NYU Langone) who gave me another injection…the pain was reduced by 70% within the fist few minutes. Two weeks later the pain was completely gone. I wouldn’t recommend Edelstein to anyone. He may be “nice” but nice doesn’t help heal the pain. He can’t even give a cortisone injection correctly. Go to someone who knows what they are doing.
I’ve been to multiple doctors for an unknown injury on my wrist, no swelling no bruising. 2 doctors gave my cortisone shots, didn’t help. I’ve been dealing with this pain for 1 year. I was recommended this doctor, after him looking at my hand for 5 mins he scheduled me for surgery. I was in desperate need to relive my pain, he said it was tendinitis and the surgery will relieve my pain. 4 months later I’m in more pain then before my surgery. When back to him twice he kept stating physical therapy will fix it, however I’ve been going to therapy for a year straight now and it only aggravated the pain. I went to the doctor that recommended me to see this doctor, got an MRI. The mri showed two different tendons swollen then before. We called him to inform of the MRI. He told my mom that it’s my anxiety that’s causing my pain, and said it’s all emotional. I’m currently still in pain and feeling hopeless.!
Went to Dr.Edelstein for my broken finger told him I was upset n would even have surgery on it if needed he told me I didn't need surgery after seeing him at least 6 times n my finger was the same as the day I went to him. Dr.Edelstein was a very nice person but just couldn't help me so.now 2 years later I still have a broken finger n am being told it already healed n can't be fixed.
Dr. David Edelstein is compassionate and understanding. He genuinely listens to his patients and takes the time to address their concerns. He is extremely professional and a very skillful surgeon. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Edelstein is attentive and compassionate. He fully explains all procedures and responds to all questions and concerns. There is never a feeling of being rushed and he truly listens to his patients. I highly recommend him.
I've been to Dr. Edelstein twice before after injuring my hand. He's really nice and helpful 100% would reccomend.
The office is professional. They respect all Covid procedures, my time and my needs . Dr. Edelstein is top notch. He explained my procedure from start to finish. Very personable and genuinely cares! I wouldn’t have trusted my hands to ANYONE else!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
