Florence Shum Do's Online Review Report Card

A big kudos to the entire staff from the front desk, to all technicians and Dr. Shum herself. Everyone was professional, friendly and super efficient. I felt that I was receiving the best care possible. I highly recommend this office for your neurology needs and concerns.

This was my first time here. I live In Staten Island. And came here because I researched and read the reviews on Dr Shum. And I saw the PA Michelle. She was amazing. She listened to my concerns and was very thorough. And the staff were so friendly. They made me feel so comfortable and very welcoming.

I’m so disappointed at this office. I started over a year ago with dr. Shum and saw her at first a few times before I started seeing dr. Twito. Although I was never aware of the change I really liked both doctors to be honest. However, I call to make an appointment for a follow up and because my migraines have been really bad lately, and they tell me I have to pay a $25 cancellation fee. The last times I had appointments I called and canceled. I was never aware of any fee! I told the receptionist I’d be changing neurologist because what she’s telling me doesn’t sound right. she said “no problem” and hung up not even a warning or any kind of accommodation. She stated “it’s the managers policy”. As a patient It made me feel that I was the least of their worries and the $25 is more important than a patients health. The $25 wasn’t the issue, the issue I have with this behavior is thinking to myself “what If someone doesn’t have it?” She basically said $25 or we can’t see you! I was totally unaware of this policy! And totally blown away by their careless response ! It’s funny how they only respond to the positive reviews and no apology or anything of that matter to the ones they treated horrible.. So unprofessional! And why can’t I see my review ???

I cannot begin to express how amazing my experience has been at this location. From the first time contacting the office, the gentleman I spoke to was so amazingly helpful and pleasant. When I arrived for my first visit, the office was so beautifully kept and inviting. The front desk staff are all so pleasant and welcoming. I was greeted with smiles from every single one of them and was taken care of so well. I then met with the P.A Michelle, who listened to my concerns and explained everything so thoroughly. She also ensured that I knew what to expect for the rest of my visits. The young lady who did my tests was so personable and made sure I was comfortable. When I met Dr. Shum, I finally understood why I was impressed by this office. As the leader of the office, she exudes such professionalism that I know passes down to her staff. Ny Neuro Care has definitely gained my respect in every aspect. I am so blessed to have found them and look forward to their continued impeccable service!

Staff members are very knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Shum is one of the finest here in town. She diagnosed my symptoms and found out that I had MMN when others have no clue. Needless to say, I would highly recommend her, come pay her a visit, you won’t regret it!
