List of Maimonides Mental & Behavioral Health's Reviews
When I started at Maimonides Psychiatry I was 145 pounds, had a 3.751 GPA, had not used substances in years, and had 2 hospitalization over a 5 year undiagnosed period. After 1.5 years I weighed 233 pounds, my GPA dropped to 2.775, I relapsed to substance use, and was hospitalized over 6 times. I reported this medical malpractice to the hospital and they promoted Dr. Ramirez to supervisor and put me in AOT. I am Pakistani and Muslim and when I arrive at Maimonides Medical Center, however, I dont recieve a special welcome at the hospital like jews do. If you are Jewish, you get a special greeting at the hospital. I have been hospitalized here more than 10 times and have been to the ER close to 20 times so you can trust me on this. Run away from this hospital.
I give Maimonides HOSPITAL a GRADE of 9000 TRILLIONS BELOW ZERO.
Wonderful therapist and psychiatrist ( Dr.feng ), Annie and Yuri are a pleasure to work with, so sorry to read other reviews. I learned advocating for yourself really helps. These 3 practitioners are professional, understanding and always offer solutions and resources any situation I am in!
I had scheduled an appointment at Maimonides Mental & Behavioral Health for my child. When I called about my child’s emergency, instead of offering support or seeing us as scheduled, they simply told me over the phone to “go to the hospital.” If your office is open and taking appointments for children, why turn us away at the exact moment we needed help most? My child was in crisis and needed to be seen, yet we were given no support. This feels extremely unprofessional and irresponsible.
I had one of the worst experiences in my life by looking for help in this place. Dr. Sabatka was my psychiatrist and constantly put me on multiple medications without providing a therapist for me to talk to. All the staff there will say they will speak to a supervisor who will contact you back but that never happens. When I stopped going there and seeked treatment elsewhere Dr. Sabatka had a visiting nursing service come with the police to do a wellness check at my home, humiliating and traumatizing me. If you really want help go anywhere else but this place. NYU offers 100x better service than anything offered by Maimonides
Horrible horrible horrible. My first meeting with the therapist she made fun of my last name and I told her I didn't like it and to not laugh and then proceeded to do it again after our session with the girl who makes the appointment. I was right outside the room and could hear them. While we were in session she also laughed at my circumstances. I never went back there ever again. She was the absolute worst.
This reviews make me so sad because I’ve been coming here since 2015. At first I had a horrible therapist, but I ended up switching. I loved the two therapists that I had and currently love the one I have now. I’ve only ever had one bad psychiatrist and I get a new one every year. I’m so sorry to the people who’ve had a bad experience.
nothing has changed, dont bother coming here they dont see u as humans and will wrongly misdiagnose u.
I’ve grown through so many issues and sickness, I’ve delt with by myself, I was in therapy and seen a psychiatrist for years till they retired… just to go to Maimonides and to hear they cannot help me. I rather find a therapist and stick to things that have been helping me. The worst .. I mean worst mental health place ever! I’d never go back! So disappointed in them. And as I read the comments one of the same doctors did the same thing to me, didn’t even care about my mental health. I suggest anyone and I mean anyone but them!! Disgustingly disappointed.
I had two appointments booked on one day, and I called and explained that I would not be able to make the appointment because the first one was halfway across Brooklyn and they were taking too long with intakes despite giving enough time to make the other appointment at this location. She pretended on the phone to be caring and nice but actually put a notice in my file so when I called to reschedule, they weren’t letting me reschedule. They had to ask for permission to reschedule

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
