Meyer Halberstam's Online Review Report Card

The doctor was always 30-45 minutes late. My prescriptions were always a chore to get, often would take two days for refills and whenever I complained would get the line "well we have a lot of patients" by the staff. I have had many doctors in my life, all with a lot of patients, and not one of them had been nearly as bad when it came to prescriptions. Was once even told to show up in person when I don't live in neighborhood only to be curtly asked by receptionist "may I help you?" Ehen I did show up as I waited in front of her while she was on the phone. I WAS a patient of Dr. Halberstam's and this is an accurate review without any name calling, even if my last one was for some reason deleted. If there was an overseer I'd complain to like Montefiore I would but these reviews are the only way I can warn people about this office and the way I felt I was treated.

Just wanted to also comment that Halberstam's staff is rude as well and lady who does the prescriptions has an attitude problem and doesn't care about your stress that it takes three days to get a medication.

Dr. Halberstam is constantly at least 30 minutes if not later for my appointments says to call him the next week to follow up on my blood work-up results and then is never available and never calls me back and for the third month in a row there's been an issue when I ask for a simple prescription refill from him. I'm going to look for another endicronologist soon. He appears to care but in reality he's lazy. I've been way too patient and said that's the last straw too many times.

I was a patient of Dr. Halberstam’s and would strongly recommend against seeing him. I had an appointment once at 8:45 and he walked in at 10:15, the wait was always long, the staff is rude and unfriendly and the dr had a terrible bedside manner. This is the worst medical office I have ever been to. Do NOT go to Dr. Halberstam.

We have never waited for less than 45 minutes to see Dr. Halberstam. When we complained about the wait time, he and his staff act as if they don't care. I would never recommend him. The staff is slow and more concerned with ordering lunch and eating food at their desks than caring for patients. They have a poor attitude and no sense of urgency regarding their job duties. I guess they follow the direction of Dr. H who arrives late for our morning appointments.

im his patient-I cook nutritionly but I must try harder to limit my carbs I know he be very proud of me if my weight was 150-200-this would make ME very happy,i just have to pass up those carbs at stop- shop store-this is what makes us FAT.

Very good a thorough doctor. Never wait longer than 1/2 hour. I just wish he would use Montefiore My Chart like my other doctors do.

I have been seeing this doctors for years. My diabetes has gone to chronic condition and his amswer is take more insulin. 190 units of insulin is rediculous when you know your watching what you eat. So i went online and looked up my blood pressure meds and found out they raise your sugar and tryglycerides. I cut meds in half and my sugar dropped from 379 to under 160. With all his experience why did i have to doctor myself.

I am very pleased with having Dr. Halberstam as my endocrinologist. He is approachable and thorough. He welcomes questions w/o feeling threatened.
