Rica Vizarra-Villongco's Online Review Report Card

Our evaluation with Dr Vizarra-Villongco was fine - she confirmed a previous diagnosis from other health care providers (our regular pediatrician and speech therapist). We were told we needed the confirmation from a developmental pediatrician to ensure nothing was missed. The problem is that it took over a month to receive our report from the visit (needed for school applications). It took over two weeks of calling daily and we left endless messages that were ignored. Once we received the report, it was a mess. There were spelling and grammatical errors and some information was just flat out incorrect. It was embarrassing sending along with our applications - but we had no choice. If you need reports of your visit for any reason, I highly recommend you find another doctor.

The receptionist is super rude. She is should not be interacting with the public at all. I called for an appointment and she continued to give me reasons why the doctor would not be available. I understand the doctor is in high demand but that is no reason to have a nasty receptionist as your gatekeeper. You should not have this women interacting with parents who are looking for support and answers. Emily in Brooklyn- 2019

The consultation went well. She told us she would write a official evaluation for our child so we could us it with our insurance and our school to get the appropriate services. Then she became impossible to reach, never returning our calls. Very poor follow up. We never got the written report and had to consult another doctor. A waist of time.

I have recommended everyone that I know that is looking to evaluate their child to Dr. Vizzara-Vollongco. She is extremely professionalism and has wonderful bedside manner. She took her time examining my daughter and made sure that we were informed throughout each detail. We are at ease and very comforted while she explained her diagnosis for my daughter. I can't say enough wonderful things about this doctor.

She was very kind and smart. She knew what the problem for my son was soon. Her way of talking to my son (and to me as I was worried as hell!!!) was extremely reassuring and very simple. She is a very good doctor and I feel to strongly recommend her as a professional.

From an office visit standpoint, I am happy with this doc. Her bedside manner is great & I think she does a great job during our appts. The problem I have is that I've been trying for MONTHS to get copies of reports that she did for my boys & I've been unsuccessful. I needed them when we moved so that all the testing she did wouldn't need to be re-done & so the new teachers/doctors could piggy back off what she did when setting up new iep's & 504's. I still haven't gotten my childrens records.

Such an amazing and caring doctor! She has a great rapport with my son. She speaks open and honest with my husband and I but is so very nice. You can tell she cares about her patients and loves her job! We trek all the way from Westchester just to go see her. She is worth it and my son's 98 average in school is a testament to her work.
