List of Tend Dental Park Slope's Reviews
Favorite dentist experience of all time. I have a significant amount of anxiety around dental care, but I felt totally at ease for my entire appt. Every single Tend team member, from receptionist, to hygienist, to dentist was kind and walked me through everything they were doing. I was consulted about cost prior to procedures. I am genuinely so grateful for Tend Park Slope and look forward to my next appt.
Great staff have been going for about 2 years and never had a bad experience will recommend them to everyone!!
Always friendly and helpful :)
Always 30-45 minutes behind schedule, low quality cleanings and care. It’s fine but not great. Only come for cleanings - anything else they tell you you need, go somewhere else / get second opinion from a real private practice.
Flawed booking system you show up and they say they don't have your appointment confirmed and turn you away even with a confirmed appointment. I was there to fix some fillings they completely botched so when you do eventually get an appointment, you can expect poor quality dental work and dentists/staff with terrible manners.
I waited a few years before actually posting a review for them because this boutique chain seemed too good to be true. My husband and I started going when they opened their first location in our neighborhood. As long as they never try to sell me anything haha they've always been reliable, friendly, efficient and never more than a 5 min wait in the lounge. A tasteful and comfortably-designed office all around. The place is so thoughtfully designed with a coat hook, mirror, sink and TV in each dental room. There is even a special stocked sink area tucked behind the lounge where you can mouth-freshen before you actually see the dentist so you never have to rush doing it at home beforehand. You know you all do that! Inside each room is a screen that says “Welcome [your name].” Overhead is a TV for you to watch cool shows while they inspect and clean your oral cavity. You are provided with slick shades and Beats headphones. I always go for Anthony Bourdain or one of those How is it Made shows. If dentist offices could get hotel ratings, this would be the Westin. You’ll feel so well-taken care of that you won't mind that you never see the same hygienist and dentist every visit, which is a big-city pet peeve of mine. It seems bougie and yet I’ve never experienced unpleasant interactions with any staff members nor witnessed any. Never been slapped w a surprise bill. The dentists are highly professional and take the time to answer Qs if I have any. I have never needed more than the routine cleaning so I can't speak to other services. I wish they offered some basic ortho treatments so that it could be a one-stop shop :D They give adult goodie bags—please Tend, don't ever stop giving those out—instead of generic, gawdy ones. Everything is chic Tend-branded in my fave shade of jade green. I use them and I keep the fabric bags for travel to hold items like my sleep mask. They send automated confirmation reminders for your appts. Every trip to the dentist should be like this.
Tend has a reputation among NYC dentists of being an entirely superficial (high-quality looks, low-quality service) clinic, which I didn't know until I finally went somewhere else. It's okay for a regular cleaning if you have no dental problems, but if you want to be seen by a good dentist, DO NOT GO HERE. I wasted money being turned away twice and told that my issue wasn't a big deal. When I switched dentists, my new one immediately started treatment and said that it could have been prevented years ago.
I went in to this location about 2 months ago for a cleaning and was told I needed to have an old filling from when I was maybe 13 replaced. He recommended it be replaced in the next 6 months or so. When I asked the doctor about the procedure he only told me that they use a resin composite and the appointment takes about an hour. Being that I haven't had a filling done in 15+ years, I didn't think much of it since from what I remembered it was a pretty easy process. I came in this morning to have the filling done. I didn't feel pain and thought the procedure was going fine until they stopped about 40 minutes after beginning to take a 3D scan of my tooth and the assistant told me she was going to set me up with a "temp". Confused, I asked her what the temp was for and it wasn't until then that she told me that the resin takes 3 weeks to be made in a factory and that I will need a follow up appointment to cement it in place. This is AFTER they drilled out my old filling and tooth. I'm pissed that they didn't enlighten me about the entire procedure that I signed up for. Had I known I would have a temp for several weeks, I would have timed the procedure differently since I am leaving the country for 3.5 weeks in a few days. The assistant was not confident when I asked her if I could floss or wear my night guard for my TMJ as normal and said if the temp falls out to use denture glue to replace it. I'm extremely angry at the lack of transparency and respect for patients at this place. Do not come here unless you want to be in the dark about your care.
Beautiful space and studio. Incredibly gentle and kind staff. The staff there made me feel less insecure with how warm they were. I look forward to continue working with them.
Very professional and customer friendly!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
