William Cheung's Online Review Report Card

Extremely rude and impatient. Spoke less than 1 minute about the biopsy report and yelled at my elderly mom. He didn't want to take any questions. Granted he has many patients but seriously that's not excuse to mistreat a patient. He was definitely overpaid for the few minutes of his time. I cannot believe this is a doctor!

If you’re a healthy individual coming in for just a well visit, it’s fine. If you’re seriously ill and looking for treatment, he’s not the one. First off, you’re not seen by the him but by the Nurse Practitioner. Instead, Dr. Cheung walks around like an office manager mouthing off in Chinese at his patients and staff and the things that come out of mouth is so unprofessional and inappropriate. Fortunately for him his patients are all foreign-born Chinese who don’t know anything about HIPPA or being dissed by him is not an acceptable behavior. Getting your blood report requires another follow-up visit in person where he can charge your insurance again. Don’t expect a call the following day from office on your blood report or urinalysis. It’s unfortunate for me to witness this. We live in NYC and there’s no shortage of doctors. Do your research and find one who physically examines his patients, one who cares and above all, one with good bedside manners.

I have visited Dr. Cheung for years. He is efficient, wise and perceptive. I trust him.

THIS IS BY FARR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAD WITH A DOCTOR EVER IN MY LIFE. Now I went for a check up because my doctor said let a hematologist check you up. I came here, first non of the employees speak english, there are no lights in the office anywhere its like one bulb. The most rude staff. and when Finally after waiting 3 hours after my appointment time, I see the doctor he doesn't seem to know a thing. I tell him what Im here for and he says "i havent really done this before" when I ask what do you do then, He says "I usually have Chinese patient they have similar problem not like you people". This guy needs to get his license stripped asap.

I would not recommend this Dr to anyone. The reason scheduling appointments is easy is because he is terrible and no one wants to see him. He talks over you, doesn't listen to your questions and prescribes oral antibiotics for everything. Sure, if you just want antibiotics and want to be talked over-please sign up for Dr Cheung.

I have been to Dr. Cheung for over 20 years. My whole family has gone to him that we are like his patient groupies. When my mom had cancer a few years back, he helped us with arranging nurse to visit, equipment and all the cancer patient needed. He helped us talking to the hospital social worker to get the best care to make my mom as comfortable as possible. I am indebted at his great services. He is the best doctor and trusted by many many local patients. He has office hours in Queens, Manhattan and Brooklyn which definitely make it easy to see him. Dr. Jan, his partner is also a very kind doctor that we trust as well.

When I told him that I was experiencing fatigue, he dismissively said, "Well, there are many reasons why people feel tired like stress." As part of my annual physical I had a blood test done. I had a blood condition and liver issues. He simply told me to adjust parts of my diet. Now 2 years later, I have developed cysts in different areas of my body and my chronic fatigue is still quite bad. So I decided to do a lot more research about my condition. I have discovered that it is a serious condition that can result in liver failure and heart disease if not treated early. As a hematologist, he had little information or advice about how to treat my condition or awareness of how dangerous my blood condition could be. I never received calls when results of my tests were in and he never called me regarding follow up appointments or planned treatments. Thanks to his apathetic nature, my condition is unchanged. If you are looking for a doctor who is proactive, informative, and empathetic, look somewhere else. Luckily I have found a hematologist that is quite knowledgeable about my blood condition.
