Brian M Karaszewski Md's Online Review Report Card

I am very surprised at the negative reviews of Dr. Karaszewski. My husband and I have been patients of his for many years. At almost 70 years old, I have been to many doctors. Dr. K is by far my favorite doctor. He takes his time talking and listening to me. He's very thorough, honest, caring and personable. I recommend him to everyone looking for a good doctor. Thank you Dr. K!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Karaszewski for more than twenty years. He is the most compassionate doctor I have ever met. My first encounter with him was when he was caring for my critically ill aunt, when he worked as a hospitalist at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Although I had never actually met him, he phoned me several times to share information about her failing health. That was when I decided that he was the kind of doctor I needed for my own care. Since I have been his patient, Dr. Karaszewski has given me excellent care. He always listens to my concerns and is willing to make adjustments to my care as needed. When I tell him that "Dr. Google" suggested something, he listens, sometimes agrees with Dr. G and sometimes doesn't. But he always listens and gives me good, logical, medically valid reasons for his opinion. I trust his judgment completely and have recommended him to friends who have also become his patients

Great, as always. Listened to my ailments, sent me for x rays,went for a covid test (proved to be positive) and found myself quarrentined. Without his observation, could have been worse.

My first visit I provided typed detailed health history including heart disease and other issues. I answered the requisite government questions about mental health, had the old stethoscope listen and within 5 minutes was pronounced "perfect". Subsequent visits have been almost the same, script for blood work given and asked if I had a colonoscopy or lab test but somehow I feel that my other specialist physicians are more in touch with my health. He is friendly and outgoing but i would trade that for a bit more diligence.

My rating is for the office staff. This doctors office has the WORST staff EVER when it comes to answering or returning phone calls, and following up. They never answer the phones or call back. I've been waiting for 1 week after 5 messages left for a pre-surgery clearance appointment for my father. His world-class cardiologist called back and schedule the same day. The doctors are nice BUT TOTALLY NOT WORTH WHAT YOU HAVE TO PUT UP WITH AT THIS OFFICE!!! BEWARE!!!

They do not return phone calls promptly. My parents are patients of Dr Karazewski but they never see him. They are always seen by a NP or PA. This would be fine if Dr. Karazewski reviewed and oversaw treatment recommendations. It is obvious that he does not. My mother was seen in January for diarrhea after being on clindamycin for a tooth abscess. The NP she saw that day, given the history (senior patient having diarrhea, after being prescribed clindamycin) should have recommended a stool culture - looking for C.Diff. Instead my mother was prescribed a probiotic and did not receive any follow up. She continued to deteriorate and when she called back she was referred to a gastroenterologist. A primary care physician should be expected to at least order a stool culture to rule out a potentially fatal infection. My mother ultimately died from c. Diff. An otherwise healthy individual living in the United States not a 3rd world country, died from a potentially treatable condition. If you are a patient here just be fore warned that the level of care is not up to standard. Obviously there is a lack of thoroughness and follow up.

Extremely poor follow up. Standard of care very poor. Patients only see NPs or PAs not Dr Karaszewski and it is obvious he does not oversee cases that are seen by support staff. They refer patients requiring anything but routine care to specialists.

My parents are patients of Dr Karaszewski but they never see him. Always seen by an NP or PA or referred to a specialist for anything other than routine care. My mother died from complications arsing from C. Diff. She was seen by an NP initially who did nothing but prescribe a probiotic for the diarrhea. No stool culture was performed and when my mother failed to improve they sent her to a gastroenterologist. Extremely disappointed in the level of care provided by this office.

Horrible experience with this office. IF you can get an appointment with Dr. K. he's great, but good luck. I 've been blown off several times for something I feel is serious. Can never get an appointment and when you can finally get through to make an appointment, they try to pass you off to a physicians assistant or give you a phone number for a specialist instead of actually trying to see you. Absolutely unacceptable.

My daughter has a schedule surgery in a few days... NO MESSAGE LEFT ON ANY PHONES that Dr. Karaszewski has a personal situation he's dealing with and will not be able to give my daughter the medical clearance that she needs. Obviously his office staff is incompetent and a State investigation should be started. There's no way that my daughter should be in this situation with a few days to go before her surgery.
