Egea Medical Weight Loss Center's Online Review Report Card

As a patient who has been seen at this practice on and off for over five years, I was quite surprised to be classified as a “new patient,” especially considering my last visit was only seven months ago. I was also informed that pricing may vary depending on how long it has been since a patient was last seen, which raises some concern given the relatively short gap in my case. I have always respected Dr. Theo and value the quality of care provided. However, the current pricing tied to a “new patient” designation feels excessive. While I understand that returning after some time away may involve a bit of additional administrative work, a significant increase in cost after just seven months does not seem reasonable. It is particularly discouraging because it took time and effort for me to reach out and schedule an appointment again. After months of hesitation, I was hoping to return to a familiar practice that already has my history on file. Unfortunately, the cost at this point makes that difficult.

As a patient of many many years (on and off for over 15 years …at least) … they informed me that I am considered a new patient … new patient pricing is outrageous and apparently is tiered, depending on how long ago you’ve last been seen. Either way, paying over 300 dollars for a ‘first’ appointment is outrageous … being seen 4 years ago or 1 year ago can’t be that different … if so … how exactly ?? Furthermore, one receptionist said I would have to pay 125 dollars and another said it’s actually 300 dollars … that’s unfortunate because though I respect Dr Theo and think she is a good Doctor, I strongly feel that this is taking advantage of people. I do agree that paying a little extra for coming back after an extended period of absence is acceptable, overpricing is not. It’s too bad because it was extremely difficult to finally make the decision to reach out again for an appointment … one that I struggled with for the last few years. Needless to say, I can’t afford that price right now. Extremely disappointing because, after having feelings of apprehension for so long, I would have liked to go to an office that knows me.

Love Dr Theo...sadly her front desk associates are awful. Promised a call back to resolve an issue and never called me back. Looking for new options.

I had three monthly appointments and was not allowed to speak to my doctor unless I scheduled a $100 appointment. No special diet, no special medications, just self-managed calorie counting. I do not think there is anything there for someone who is looking for a serious medical-supervised weight loss.

Love this place for medical problems. Weight loss programs are available for both men and women. Some insurance companies do not cover visits. So check with them first. The medical center doesn't take insurance. They take cash or credit cards. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a serious medical-supervised weight loss. From the moment I walked into the door and was greeted very professionally by both receptionist it was a very postive and helpful experience!! I have tired several programs for years ie, Weight Watchers, Keto, South Beach you name it I tried it and failed. It wasn't until I came here and saw Dr. Amy Severson who was so genuine, compassionate and truly cared about my health, that I have had complete success!! We worked together on a diet plan that worked for me. I kept a food journal and went over it every time I saw her. Some day's I ate things that were not good for me, but she never criticized me or made me feel bad about myself like other doctors did. Since I have been seeing her I lost 77 pounds! I am a new me and learned how to love myself again. So if your feeling hopeless or defeated and your like me tried EVERYTHIG lost the weight and gained back more. Then this is the right place for you! Trust me, if your very serious about losing weight call them and make a appointment. You will be glad you did! A huge thank you to Dr. Amy Stevenson for getting my life on track and her wonderful receptionist(s) who are always flexible in scheduling my appointment's!

For years, I had problems losing weight. I can't tell you how many diets and gimmicks I have tried and failed. This place is wonderful! The doctors are so mindful, polite, caring individuals with no judgment. They completely understand your struggle I have had great success so far, and I highly recommend this place! You will too! You feel welcomed right from the start. The receptionist is such a wonderful person. She works with your flexible schedule. The atmosphere is wonderful! There is plenty of seating and very comfortable.

Dr. T is a wonderful person as well as doctor, her bright concerned personality always comes through. She has given me the tools and encouragement to improve my health.

Outstanding and very professional yet personable medical office. Dr. Theos is an amazing doctor, not only possessing the clinical skills to assess but also has the very compassionate side to treating her patients. Dr. Theos has celebrated my wins and picked me up emotionally when I’ve failed. Dr. Theos respects and listens and most of all allows me to advocate for myself. I highly recommend anyone who struggle with weight issues to pursue treatment at this center.
