List of Finger Lakes Family Care's Reviews
I’ve been at this office for about 9 years & for those 9 years I’ve complained to the office about recurring issues that have been going on. Here we are almost 10 years later when another doctor (great btw) referred me to a specialist. Come to find out I needed extensive surgery for said issues. Ignoring the issues I’ve been complaining about since I was 13 resulted in permanent muscle damage & a 50% fertility rate. Not to mention their front desk ladies are horrible & can never do anything right. I was in a car accident a few months ago & they submitted a car accident from 5 years ago to my insurance instead of the accident I was in 2 days before I came to the office. I wouldn’t recommend this office to anyone.
When this "doctor" tells me an excuse for work for a UTI... I dont think you need to miss work for an UTi.... that is crazy does he understand how painful an UTI is what kind of doctor say something like this to a patient?
My gf has been a patient of one Dr Robert Smith of Fingerlakes Medical Care. I am her driver to appointments when she can’t bus, and we both are wheelchair bound. Rough weather makes it hard to get anywhere! Yesterday after missing a couple appointments, she received a missed appointment warning letter, and a patient discharge/termination letter on the SAME afternoon?? In what universe is that right?? What part of mobility impairment don’t they get. Was this partially Medicare discrimination? We took a chance on him, despite a previous ethics violation that docked his record. He failed her/us. We are going to impose a multipronged approach to sanctioning him, including press, and legal consult. We will amend reviews under conditions of mutual agreement but we don't mess around!
I love my doctor. He's the best. Dr. Smith thank you for everything.
My 2 children and I recently visited Finger Lakes Family Care to establish family care with them. During my son's check-up, the nurse practitioner put the check-up down as a sick visit, simply b/c my son had a cold. I kept telling her that this is our first visit, a regular wellness check-up and she reassured me that it will be covered by my insurance no matter what. Now, I got the bill that I have to pay for his visit?!It really sucks that I have to fight this bill with and explain the situation to the billing dept. Honestly, she didn't do much but getting his weight & height and asking bunch of questions.Though the staff are friendly, it's too bad that this care provider is clueless and not helpful. I guess we are looking for another family care provider who is truly looking out for our best interest ...
Our Family as been going for 14+ Yrs. Dr. Smith has been there for our family and on many occasions has gone above and beyond to help us out as does the FNP's and the Nurses in his office!! Thank You for every thing! We look forward to being in your care for many years to come! TW
Can't say enough good about the staff, they are amazing and you never have to wait long, and. They actually listen to your issues and address them.
Staff is impolite and has a total disregard for their patient's well-being. We are leaving this practice because of the long wait times to see Doctor Smith for appointments, the disrespectful nurse staff and the lack of timely and professional communication. No one, especially someone that is ill should be subjected to this staff's degrading language.
At first I was impressed by Fingerlakes Family care. The office and receptionists are very nice but I soon was very disappointed by them. First off, when I moved from the area I asked for my daughters records to be sent to her new pediatrician. I filled out the paperwork in office, and also called to remind them. I took my daughter to her new doctor only to find out they never sent her records. When my daughter was born and she had her first appointment there, they did her weight wrong in the computer, measured her length wrong and had to do that a second time, and also the doctor went through her chart so quickly he didn't see that she was there for her hep b vaccine..but instead thought she received it at the hospital.I went there because of bad stomach pains and had all of the classic symptoms of gallstones. The APRN ordered an ultrasound and I had to wait one week. At the ultrasound they saw Gallstones. I informed them over the phone my pain was more frequent and more severe. The nurse didn't seem too concerned and said the next step was a CAT scan which they could schedule in one week. I reiterated that it was getting worse but got the same answer. The next day my pain was so bad I needed to go into the ER and they sent me to have a surgical consult that day because my gallbladder needed to be removed. The doctors at the hospital were very surprised that the doctors at Fingerlakes family care didn't reccommend surgery after seeing the ultrasound results. I would not reccommend this practice to anyone. They have a good appearance but lack follow through and attention to detail- two things that are important when dealing with your family's health. Stay away from this practice.
I have never found a more caring and competent group of health care professionals than those at FLFC. Their use of technology greatly increases safety and efficiency for the benefit of the patient. Rx refills and medical questions are a breeze to get through to the offices with just a minimum of computer skills and they are handled quickly. If needed, you can always get into see SOMEONE almost immediately. If you needed to be seen any quicker, you should have gone to the ER. More than once, they have contacted me at home and told me to come in because they had a concern about something I had said.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
