List of Gary D. Markowitz's Reviews
I am very disappointed about the medical office ability to provide adequate services. I have never seen such a shitty job in any medical office! I made an app. for 3 yrs. old baby (refugee from Ukraine). I got call from office day before to reschedule, only one pediatric ophthalmologist there. In time of the app., a translator was not settled, we had to wait for the for several more weeks. Last week I got 2 appointment reminders the business, both for the baby, for different times and doctors. Then the baby got very sick, and I asked to reschedule the appointment. It was said that by their office policy, the next scheduled appointment cannot be reschedule! The secretary point time. I recall to the office after 5 min (I had to check with baby's mom), to ask for time on Fri, but they refused to do that, because of their office policy! It is despicable! I ask to speak with an office manager, nobody calls me to make up for the nonsenses and apologize.
I am very disappointed about the medical office ability to provide adequate services. I was surprised by lack of any common sense in the office. I have never seen such a shitty job in any medical office! I got to make an appointment and fill out paperwork for 3 years old baby (I am helping the refugee family from Ukraine). Couple days before the scheduled appointment I received a call from the ...
Dr Markowitz is unprofessional and a cheat. As also mentioned in another review, he's downright rude and seems to be in this profession only for money. He lacks compassion and can be mean toward kids. He enforced a follow-up checkup, where he spent two minutes on ensuring that the claimed-infection in my son's eyes had gone, without any further explanation or taking the time out for any other concerns. ...
I had to bring my son who just turned 2 to see Dr. Markowitz, at the referral of our pediatrician. The office staff and nurse were AMAZING with my son! However I'm not sure how dr. Markowitz is considered a pediatric specialist, seeing how he was blunt and rude to my son- who was very well behaved, just didn't understand that he had to follow the light with his eyes.... My son has a reflux cough, ...
I found Dr Markowitz to be superior in every way. Patient. Clearly explained diagnosis and options. Comforting. Thorough. The entire office staff in Brighton was exceptional.
He has been our children’s doctor for years. Great office, wonderful staff, always available for questions. Our kids love going there.
He is just fantastic with kids. He came highly recommended and it's obvious why. Patients come to see him from far and wide. He talks in a soft way that my children like and his explanations are very understandable. He's always busy with many patients but he has always taken the time to give us great care.
Dr. Markowitz constantly scheduled very expensive "follow-up" appointments for my daughter, but never spent more than 5 minutes in the room with her. He asked on more than one occasion if she was deaf (she is not), and never made any effort to get to know her or gain her trust.
This doctor is very very bad. He is not very patient at all. When we asked him questions, he's even not glad to answer. Never see him!
Dr. Markowitz is an outstanding children's eye doctor. He helped my son with his lazy eye with eyeglasses and then eye surgery. Now he has perfect vision and no more lazy eye after surgery. Many of my friends have taken their children and we all love him. He is great with the children and also has a super sense of humor. His assistants at Ocusight are wonderful with children, too.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
