List of Garden Gate Health Care Facility's Reviews
I wish I could give 0 stars. My mother went in for a broken leg and 6 weeks later is still there with some infection totally unrelated.Their hygiene is disgusting. It smells because bed pans sit around all day. I could go on and on about things missing from her room and getting the wrong pills (her roommate). Her Dr. said get her out of there and don't send her back.
I’ll start by saying that I know it’s difficult trying to find a reputable place to place a loved one, I have read A LOT of reviews. My experience with this facility during my fathers stay was ABYSMAL.My father spent to 2 weeks here and during this time his bed did not work, his room was not getting cleaned, the handicapped doors to the facility stopped working, and his information was not added to the visitors book until the day before he had to get re-admitted to the hospital. Also, days before we alerted the staff that my fathers feet were swelling and the nurses at his station told me that I was just there for a “compassion visit” nothing else and told me to call and make an appointment to talk to a nurse- and the nurse that told me to do this was the one I needed to make an appointment with- when I asked why she couldn’t talk to me then and there she said she was leaving for the night and was too busy and refused to speak with me I asked for a supervisor and she picked up the phone and said she would have me removed from the building. When I did set an appointment which I asked for the director to attend and they didn’t the lead nurse said read between the lines he is not doing well. All of this occurred from 7/1-7/12…My father was apart of the acute section of this facility.
Wish I could give 0 stars, I think that they forget that not everyone has dementia and notices what really is going on. Just for starter a 1 day stay was unbearable and now waiting for discharge for 6 hours. Lost ride homeand ha
As a caregiver when I ask a question, I'm given the runaround. I'm very concern about my significant and asked questions and was told the nurses can't give out any information!!! I have to talk to thr nurse supervisor or call to make an appointment. Not happy at all!! Also always walk into to his room and it's a mess they never check on him. VERY VERY HOT in there air-conditioning not working. Can't even open a window a little. He was in there a couple years ago they were GREAT now it's horrible, went down hill. Very disappointed
Worst place I’ve ever worked.
A big THANK YOU to the staff at Garden Gate for taking such great care of my mom for the past 7 weeks! Every time family called my mother said nothing but good comments, felt the love/compassion from the staff, and was treated in the best possible way! We are blessed that angels were taking such good care of her when we weren’t able to see her during this time. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Unfortunately my mom at 91had to go for rehab during this challenging time of COVID isolation. We have window visits and connect with her on IPAD with the assitance of their Activities Department. The nurses and the staff have been so helpful and accommodating so we are able to stay in touch. PT and OT are very thorough working with her so she will be more independent. My mother is struggling with dementia issues and everyone there is very caring. They are always willing to give my mother the assistance she needs. Thank you to the staff at Garden Gate Health Care Facility!
I would give this place no stars. Family member there for rehab. This is what I was told:1. Never saw any cleaning personnel.2. Shared bathroom with four other patients while in covid isolation.3. Cell phone and tablet put through laundry. Replaced tablet, but won't admit to phone.4. Meals were always cold.5. Some aids huffed when asked for their assistance.I could go on. Not happy at all. Especially with the new deadly virus!!!
Its pitififul what goes on. You cant get a change, meals are horrible on paper plates, cell phone usage is ignored, etc
On February 17th 2019, Sunday my mother had a massive stroke I did not receive a call till after 9 p.m. at night that she was not responding I went up there had them send my mother to Mercy Hospital after they did a head scan the nurse came back with the results that this stroke happen several hours before they call me the stroke happen sometimes during first shift and they left her like that for second shift to deal with while at the hospital they discovered my mother had two bed sores and a UTI and when I called up there and spoke to Terry Magnuszewski the unit coordinator her reply to me was there is nothing we could have done because your mother is a DNR so what difference would it matter if we would have called you sooner. What type of person would say anything like that to a family member. That is the worst nursing home there could possibly be some of the nursing aides there are lazy they are just there for a paycheck they don't want to take care of the patients if you love your love one I would not send them to this Nursing Facility and for the 13 years my mother been there I've been constantly complaining about the Care there and if I was able to get my mother out of there I would have.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
