Robert Mantica's Online Review Report Card

I was referred to dr Mantica for severe 24hr shoulder pain. Prior to the visit, I had X-rays and MRI. When he walked into the room, he curtly announced his name and went straight to the displayed X-ray and said looks “perfect.” He then noticed the radiologist report, zoomed in on the X-ray and found the problem. After showing him the spot of intense pain, he pressed it hard and I doubled over and nearly puked. His response was “YOU need to learn how to control yourself” and the he pressed it again. Without seeing the MRI he announced that he was going to give me a shot into the center of the pain and that if I moved, there could be damage. I made a beeline out the door to see a terrific doc at Hudson Valley Bone and Joint in Hawthorne, NY. There were people moaning in his waiting room and I wondered if they might have already seen the doctor

Dr. Manitca did my ankle surgery in early August 2020 during the COVID outbreak. It was emergency surgery due to a really bad fracture of my lower fibula and tibia requiring hardware and screws. He did a fabulous job and a year later everything is perfect. He described how long it wouldn't feel normal as well as the swelling complications and predicted how long it would take to feel normal again. He was spot on. I would recommend him highly for any orthopedic surgery. He is fantastic. He is plain to point which is what I like. I'm all mended up now and feel 100% Thank you for an excellent job!

Listens and explains condition and treatment. Did not feel rushed.

Poor bedside manner does not really listen saw that I was taking Zoloft for passing out and prescribe me Celebrex for injury on shoulder as soon as the pharmacist saw this it raised an alarm and she said you do not take these two together he never discussed any drug interaction with me he never took an MRI he is horrible doctor and if you read his bio it says nothing about his Pennsylvania 36 month probationary.. I don't know what you're doing at Middletown Medical but you just lost my business forever between doctor Manteca and dr. Katzenchiva who's also unprepared inadequate are you taking the lowest form of doctors? I would not send my faithful dog to either one of these doctors shame on you for hiring these two people dr. Katz and Chiva a neurologist have an appointment with me did not have my hospital records available for the appointment and told me she was restricting my driving for one year because the hospital records were were for the most part negative she did not order any other testing to be done just restricted me for driving for a year finally found a great neurologist at Crystal Run dr. Peng . Cats and Shiva in Manteca do more harm than good and should lose their license in my opinion but you just keep on using them there Middletown Medical and you lose all your customers. Dr.mantica should use mouth wash before seeing patients and fyi Lipitor can cause muscle pain not joint pain. I've finally switched to Crystal run health.

I would give Dr. Robert Mantica an excellent rating as a doctor and surgeon. I worked with him for 3 years, getting x rays, injections, and evaluations for my knee and hip arthritis. My hip arthritis progressed to a total lack of cartillage and unbearable pain day and night. Dr. Mantica performed a total hip replacement surgery in October of 2017. The surgery went smoothly and I am recovering well. All of the terrible, unbearable hip pain is gone! For me, this is a life changing operation and I can't thank Dr. Mantica and his staff enough.

He told me my 4 year old was attention seeking, after 2 visits and 4 weeks of limping. Took him for a second opinion. HIS LEG WAS BROKEN. Very dismissive, doesn't listen to complaints. If you have another option, use a different doctor.

Starting with his receptionist, she was dressed very inappropriately, and was rude and mean to pts as well. As for the doctor, he was arrogant and dismissive. I would never recommend him to anyone. The worst bedside manor I've ever encountered in a Doctor and I've had many surgeries and worked with them as well. I'm a nurse who has worked in a Doctors office for many years and have never experienced such appalling treatment. Do yourself a favor and seek an orthopedic elsewhere.
