This doctor becomes impatient when she has said her piece and the patient questions her. It feels like she is speaking at you without taking in all of your concerns. It also felt as if she was rushing through the appointment and that I was a bother. I don't doubt that she is competent, but her bedside manner is abrupt.

She was hopeful to see the best rheumatologist on LI. Dr. Ozbek was dismissive of her concerns and argumentative with her about the medications and treatments she'd received from other doctors. My sister had an initial consult with Dr. Ozbek yesterday and left in tears. She suffers from multiple chronic diseases, one of which is new to her. She was hopeful to see the best rheumatologist on LI. Dr. Ozbek was dismissive of her concerns and argumentative with her about the medications and treatments she'd received from other doctors. One of these doctors she stated was a colleague of hers and a fellow 'best doctor.' She asked my sister repeatedly "why are you here?" This is an absurd question for a doctor to ask a patient. All of your patients are there because they are sick and want your help getting better. If she'd listened to my sister's history or asked any kind of thoughtful questions, she would have received a detailed answer to that. It seems that this question was echoed to dismiss my sister summarily and send her on her way. If this is the best LI has to offer, my sister figures she take her chances with less lauded doctors. I have to say, I agree.
