Well I found out taking the pump out of my stomach IS y my stomach is stomach is still bloated with fluid and if I remove it from my back same thing is going to happen which now I probably won't due the surgery an nothing was EVER told me this before 1st or 2nd surgery So now I am stuck with this thing

Had to introduce myself to the doctor and ask his name. No physical exam on my husband done. Only asked questions about how he felt. Different type of appointment from what I am used to. Maybe a bit to clinical.

I had dbs at stony Brook and dr. Mikel was the surgeon. I was quite nervous but after meeting with him I felt his knowledge and his attitude put me at ease . I am happy to say that the operation was successful and I am now starting on the way to easing my Parkinson’s symptoms

I am forever grateful to Dr. Mikell and his team both in his office and the operating room. I had suffered with a hemifacial spasm which had increased in severity over 10 years. I exhausted all known treatments and came to Dr. Mikell to discuss surgery . Dr. Mikell listened to my concerns and saw beyond my medical condition and treated me as a person who he knew and would give his greatest care and expertise . We discussed how I came to the point in considering surgery and what the pros and cons may be in moving foward . I knew that I had found an honest surgeon who was both caring and possessed the knowledge and skills to help me . And that he did! My life has changed because of Dr. Mikell and I am grateful that he is in the field of neurology to help people in great need. During our first consult, his visits in the hospital after surgery and my follow-up checkups, I have always felt that all that was possible to help me and improve my condition was being done with great care and compassion . Thank you Dr. Mikell and the team at Stony Brook, I am so grateful to you. You are an answered prayer for me.

I recently met with Dr Mikell - related to a recently noted brain tumor - found on an Mri test for headaches, and forgetfulness. It was an extreme pleasure to meet a young doctor so truly devoted to helping people in a dire situation. His medical experience, training and prolonged amount of time spent with me gave me all the confidence I needed to make the right decision.

I recently had Dbs surgery with Dr Mikell. A great success in treating my Parkinson's. He gave me my life back. He explained the process from A-Z, and addressed all my concerns. He is kind , patient , attentive and confident. I immediately knew I found the right surgeon. My neurologist Dr Schwartz and Dr Mikell are my dream team. They worked on my brain and healed my heart. Many thanks to my team and their great staff in the office and hospital
