I suffered from severe vertigo. Dr Schessel was kind, informative and genuinely cared about what the cause was for the vertigo. He is very smart and explains everything in depth. Highly recommend!

I saw Dr. Schessel for a pulsatile tinnitus consult at the Commack office and thought he was very thorough when examining me and spent quite some time with me. I didn't feel rushed at all. The staff at the front desk and assistants were also very pleasant.

Dr. Shessel is amazing. He knows what he is doing. Takes the time out to make a clear diagnosis. I went on for years not knowing what my illness was. When I finally came to his office after tons of other specialist that didn’t have a clue. Dr. Shessel then referred me to several test and then was able to make a clear diagnosis. He is the best and worth the wait.

My special needs son is 21. He has been seeing Dr. Schessel for many years. He is one of the Best! A kind & caring man. He has made me feel better a few times with his calming voice. Of course a Great Doctor!!

DO NOT use Dr Schessel as your Physician . He has shown himself to be dishonest and not care one single bit about his patients well being - only about the almighty dollar so it seems ... He has not returned phone calls or e mails and his staff just keeps passing you around because “ that’s not our job , let me connect you to someone else “ and on and on it goes . Please , if you are considering Cochlear implants find a Dr that is worthy of such an invasive life altering surgery . Someone you can trust and stay connected to AFTER the procedure and he has been paid .

Dr Schessel is very nice and personable. It's his secretary Amy that is incredibly rude! She is unprofessional and speaks down to you on the phone. I have never dealt with such a rude person in my entire life and that says a lot because I am also in the medical field. She needs to be fired.

I generally don't write reviews, however my experience with the staff and their ability to organize and keep appointments is appalling. I recently had an appointment with Dr Schessel which was scheduled 4 months in advance. I showed up for the appointment and was informed that they cancelled it.. The receptionists stated that "you didn't call to confirm the appointment so it was cancelled." huh? Are you kidding me? What century is this? I was told too bad there is nothing that can be done.
