I'm not sure if I'm allowed zero stars. So I'm reluctantly giving 1. In a nutshell:After 3 weeks nobody knew my mothers name.The social worker was a hindrance not a help. No guidance, no suggestions on home health,and giggled when explained my mom has 48 hours to vacate. We had to Ask for a conference to learn what to do next.Every time I had a question I was told to ask someone else.The head nurse stock answer was call someone else. One time I was discussing my moms meds and she wrote her notes on the corner of a magazine she was holding. The food is inedible and I had to bring in  my meals from the outside.l. My mother buzzing to go to the bathroom was never less than a 30min. response time. Unacceptable. Extremely short staffed. The motto there has to be passing the buck. The worst crime. Yes I said crime, is that youre on your own. Once insurance doesn't pay, they told us on a Monday by saying so what are you doing with your mother Wednesday. That's how we found out. She still couldn't walk which is a problem with insurance, but had no guidance again  for this hellhole. I've never written a Yelp comment before. If I can warn one person, it was worth it

I love Gurwin. My family member was in the rehab there. She received fantastic care. She arrived in horrible shape from the hospital and over her stay there, she got better and better. I truly feel, should you need a rehab, none of them will be what you expect, but Gurwin sure is as good as it gets. Also, this has to be the cleanest most well equipped rehab I've ever seen and I've seen a lot. Love them.

Food is horrible here . The dog wont even eat this what they giving to people . Staff is so słów you ring emergency button an have to wait 25 min at least to someone show up . Therrible płace and horrible food. When you call for help you lucky if the cna come in 15-20 min

I am writing this review to thank those who help make peoples lives better at Gurwin I was there for five weeks with a disease called GBS which attacks the nervous system the therapists led by Brian did a fantastic job of getting me stronger and on the road to recovery the other therapistsI would like to point out who were  caring were Amy Maria Amanda Stu and Ramak Christina who was My main therapist was and is my friend and a great motivator. The RAS who took care of me Jennifer Jadine and especially Ashley were fantastic in attending to all my needs along with Cristina and Paola.The  nurses Michelle Maggie and Jovi were kind and caring and The social workers Deirdre and Alexis were heavily involved in extending my stay of which I am very appreciative Joanne who is one of the supervisors was there when I needed her and did a great job of attending to any problem I had while at Gurwin I ask only one favor and that is that each of these people either receive a copy of this letter signed by Joanne or a letter of commendation.

PLEASE READ, this is for my grandma. I made the original comment under "Rosaline J." back in March of 2021 so this is the updated review on everything that happened with my grandma and Gerwin. Anyway! this all took place January-march 2021 where we as family members could not visit because of covid. I need to update this yelp on my grandmas case for any of you THINKING about sending your loved ones here. Do not do it!! Listen here, my grandmother went in there after having a stroke and we were told she was going to get physical therapy and it would be very beneficial to her. Let me tell you - it was not and they did NOTHING for her except drain her insurance. My grandmother didnt have much deficits from her stroke but she was in bed for so long she couldnt hold her weight up by her waist any more. She was a bad walker to begin with, but physical therapy didnt do anything for her. Her exercise was maybe 5mins per day in Gerwin then she was in bed or in the chair for most of the day. I remember her saying "They havent been back in awhile and I wanted to go lie down", well when did she want to go back into the bed? 12pm, what time was it now? 5pm. She developed stage 2 pressure ulcers while in there. Contracted covid and thankfully survived (but oddly enough they told us for like 4-5 weeks that she was still sick and she was still positive for covid?? very odd? she was positive for a whole month?). I remember the social worker being very nasty and didnt even want to help us, very short on the phone and rude as well. On top of that, they stopped updating us about her status until we complained.  Also there was this whole thing that she fell and had a fractured wrist? We wanted her to be sent to good sam hospital, they sent her somewhere else without tellingus where!! only to find, oh her wrist wasnt fractured? so when did she fall? they said A MONTH AGO! they never told us before nor documented this happening!Also, can I just say we pulled her out of there because we suspected elder abuse. My grandmother told me the following things 1. a woman named Marie (a CNA im assuming) she was genuinely fearful of. they were rough with her when cleaning her. 2. they took her personal belongings such as my grandmas shoes, my grandma said "Where are you going with my shoes", the CNA said "What do you need them for, youre never going to walk again". 3. my grandma said while they were moving her a CNA said "Cant you see, shes retarted" while talking with another CNA. this all happened from january to march, and as a granddaughter I feel deep guilt that my family decided to put her in there. She recalls some the nurses and physical therapists being very nice. But when we finally pulled her home - she looked SO sick when she came home, she was thin, she was bony, she looked sickly and when she finally came home, a month later she put weight back on, she she was just happy to be home, we did home care for her and she was so much better off getting the care at home. She almost had we called them "gerwin flash backs" where she would almost sundown and she would think shes back at gerwin and being cared for by this "Marie" CNA and she would be afraid, legit afraid and we would have to assure her that she was home and that this CNA is not here nor will never be near her again. These nursing homes are understaffed with limited time to care for patients to their best of their ability. they do NOT deliver quality of care. I wish I could give my grandmother back those 3 months of her life, but we cant. There is absolutely NO quality of life for this patients in these nursing homes. Dont send them here!After seeing all of this and what could happen, as a 28 year old. I would NEVER place my parents in their care and I will make sure to tell my children and have it written up to not place me in a nursing home cause I have heard some greatly terrible things. Do not give this rehab facility your money.

Like anyplace your gonna have Pros & Cons but some things are just unacceptable. My mother had to be brought out of this facility to the hospital for infections she acquired there. There's more issues I've had but overall they act more like a Business then a place you'll feel comfortable leaving your Loved one. There were some nice Staff as well Some very Rude ones. I wouldn't say it's the worse facility, just dnt leave your loved one there for an extended amount of time.

Took care of a loved one in their rehabilitation center. It started out fine but between their COVID restrictions, shuffling of staff in my loved ones case, and basically pushing my loved one out without much help, it went from fine to bad. Definitely not happy with their efforts to help our family. Goals not met and it really appears like they’re pushing their patient out than helping them and their families. Do not recommend their rehab facility.
