He was ready to discharge me from the hospital after a week with no plan except pain medication and physical therapy. My next Dr performed surgery 4 days later due to a fractured vertebra and metal hardware already in place that was found to be broken.

Dr. Mermelstein is a wonder. 30 years old with a huge herniated disc. He listened to me , explained my options and was extremely kind and realistic. His skill is unmatched that is just a fact. My first ever surgery and let’s hope it’s my last. My recovery is going as expected. I got my life back. Also the office staff is awesome. Everyone is so nice !

Dr. Mermelstein is an excellent surgeon that takes the time to explain the procedure he will be doing and answer any questions you have. He performed lumbar laminectomy and fusion on me in 2010 and a ACDF in 2021. I am very happy with the results of both surgeries. The staff at Long Island Spine Specialists are very friendly and accommodating.

I have seen Dr. Mermelstein for the past 20 years , he is the most compassionate , caring and informative person i have seen in the medical field , he has seen me through 4 back surgeries and i am still walking , i am now struggling with neck issues , i would only trust Dr.Mermelstein with my back and neck issues, highly recommend him, the PA,s and the entire staff at Long Island Spine

Dr. Mermelstein is a gifted surgeon, his brilliance is not just demonstrated by his skill but also by his wonderful beside manner. You can just tell after being around him that he is a not just a good surgeon he is also a good person. After being in pain for many years and seeing many surgeons Dr. Mermelstein was the first one to explain and provide a plan that was all encompassing to take away my pain. It is still so weird to go through day and especially the night without back and leg pain.
