I’ve been a patient of Dr Basra’s for a little over two years now and it’s been quite a journey for me ! I’ve seen multiple drs before Dr.Basra was recommended to me . So of course I was a bit discouraged because I was just getting dismissed and sent to numerous different drs for over two years .I suffer from a back injury herniated discs, sciatica and other on going issues . I didn’t even know the extent of my injuries and what was really going on until he broke it down to me in full detail and how everything worked and connected in my back .I was just suffering in silence until I met Dr Basra .From the beginning of my journey with Dr.Basra he has always laid out options for me and told me what it is flat out no sugar coating anything . which I loved because most drs are so quick to push surgery on you . He’s never pushed surgery on me which I found quite funny because I thought in head “ this is what you do for a living “ . I’ve never had surgery prior not even a broken bone so I was scared .But I put my faith and life in his hands that’s what an amazing Dr he’s proven himself to be . I’m sure you all know how much you miss out on with family friend and especially children with such ongoing injuries . Life got very depressing , I got very discouraged and wanted to give up . But I continued my care with him because I knew “ he see’s me , and he hears me “. I had a lot of faith in him . He’s very humble and down to earth not to mention his bedside manners are top tier. But Most importantly he listens to you with the intent of helping you ! A Doctor genuinely listening is very important to me most drs are always in and out within less than a minute and quick to write a script and send you on your way . They never really hear you or listen to your concerns .So needless to say I’m very picky and quick to get rid of a Dr If I notice if that’s a quality they carry . Dr Basra sat and listened and still does till this day , he’s addressed every concern I’ve ever had and I can say he’s held my hand through it all . He’s treated me like family not to mention his staff is amazing . Anytime a friend or family says “ oh my back hurts “ I say I have a Doctor for you “. But honestly I’m beyond grateful to have met such an amazing surgeon . Take it from me he’s the best spinal surgeon around . I recently went in for a spinal fusions and there were a few complications on my end .I could have easily died during surgery and to be here writing this with my daughter next to me just confirms I choose the right hands to be in . Love you Dr Basra ! Thank you for your care and continue being the best !

Look for a different organization! No longer the best. Sell-outs to Catholic Heath…. I’m so disappointed……..

MUHAMMAD AHSAN, DO Told me there is nothing he could do for me. He said Only My surgeon can help me With My pain. I don't know why he became a pain management doctor. He doesn't even know what he's doing. He will give me something but something that I would have to be a guinea pig for. A medication that is on trial basis right now. And because I refuse to take the Medication he said he cannot help me. I have to find out about a complaint department.

My husband & I have been seeing Dr. Mermolstein for about 2 years. And now I am seeing Dr. Abbasi! Both these physicians are amazing. They are extremely thorough with their examinations, professional, caring and have great bedside manners! We have great conversations with both of them. They make both of us feel very comfortable and their treatment plans are always healing. We are always aware that they truly care about our well being. Additionally their staff is wonderful. At the front desk or on the phone, Lauren, Meredith and Sue are cheerful, kind and efficient. In emergencies they always fit us in. Roseanne, Tom, Kendra, Jesssica and all the staff we have ever encountered have been exceptional. After my last visit with Dr Abbasi he left the room, and as we were leaving my husband passed out. I went into the hallway and yelled for help. Alex (NP), Grace, Lucia & Raul came to our rescue. They were like angels sent by God. They took wonderful care of my husband, and were so efficient and gave us some wonderful suggestions. Alex told me what to tell my husband's cardiologist and explained so much to me. Although new to the practice she knew exactly what to do. Raul was also extremely helpful. He and Grace & Lucia were also very comforting. Later Dr. Abbasi discovered what had happened and he came in to check that my husband had recovered from the episode. I cannot thank this team enough for all their care and concern, and for always being so wonderful. They continued to check on us while we waited for our kids to come for us. If you are looking for physicians and a staff that is thorough, professional and very caring LI Spine is for you! We Thank them all !

Took an hour and a half past my scheduled time, just to read me an MRI. They need to pull themselves together. Catholic health is horrible.

Very smooth office. Thorough. Ty hey looked at my old records and went over everything that I need and how to move forward ! Been using them on and off for 15 years

Dr. Mermelstein is a great doctor. He took lots of time viewing my MRIs and CAT scans of my spine. He explained everything. As a result, I felt extremely confident to undergo surgery. He's a wonderful, caring doctor.

Dr. Dowling listened to everything I said, checked for possible structural and neuro faults, then suggested the next move based on current symptoms and my response to medication taken since the time of injury. He gave me my options, including doing nothing at all this time or getting some core strength advice. He made clear that his diagnoses are based largely on current symptoms. Doing additional testing, while ultimately the decision of the patient, would not be recommended should the symptom not warrant such. That is, much to my relief, "fishing"for any and all possibilities is not what they do [ my words, not theirs ]. I chose to do nothing at this point with Dr. Dowling's blessing. He then explained when, if at all, I might schedule a second appointment should things change in particular ways. I left relieved that I didn't need more testing at this time, yet confident that should my (one-off??) experience recur, I now had someone to return to that I could trust.

Dr. Dowling the third is an amazing surgeon. He is able to put me at ease with each visit. He througly goes over the MRIs and X-RAY findings with me so that I understand what is happening with my spine and Dr. Dowling the third lays out a plan of action that is beneficial and he has my full trust. He did my emergency laminectomy and was truly a Godsend in one of my worst moments. His staff is amazing and they show so much care and kindness. I had an epidural for my lower back by Dr. Abassi today. He was a true professional. Kept me informed as to what he would doing and what to expect. The procedure was quick and I was on my way home before I knew it. The staff was great. Very kind and knowledgeable and made me comfortable throughout the procedure. Truly an outstanding group from top to bottom. Thank you
