Do not recommend. She had me stop a medication I had been taking for 8 years. After expressing my concern for stopping it suddenly, she gave me two doses of something to “taper” me off faster. I ended up experiencing horrible withdrawal. She gave me five more doses. A week and a half later I was so dizzy I could barely walk. Taking two new meds three times a day she had me then stop those cold Turkey and prescribed a whole new medication which I refuse to take. I am still withdrawing. I scheduled an apt with a different provider that somehow got changed to her without my knowledge. I can’t believe she is able to prescribe medication to anyone. She doesn’t care to know anything but the main issue so she can pick a medication to prescribe and send you on your way.

I found Dr. McMahon to be very condescending - not interested in treatment history, talked negatively of past psychiatric providers, and was unwilling to provide explanation for her findings or diagnosis.

This doctor would not ask my questions about my state. She instead made assumptions about me, talked over me, and sent me out the door within ten minutes, every time I saw her. Being that she was the only doctor who dealt with trans issues in the area, I had no option other than to see her, but she failed at doing her job in every way.
