Ami Patel's Online Review Report Card

Went by the office today and the store is empty. Does anyone know if they closed up shop permanently or did they relocate?

Staff are very meticulous with cleaning every surface anyone touches by wiping & disinfecting them soon as the customer leaves. Dr. Patel and her staff are very friendly and courteous. You'll have your temperature taken soon as you walk in. Hand sanitizers are available. I've never seen any business in Diamond Bar or anywhere else this meticulous with ensuring surfaces are disinfected after each use. Would definitely and highly recommend Dr. Patel's business for any eye related matter. They're great with my kids as well.

Dr. Patel has been my family's Optometrist since I was 5 years old! She is absolutely incredible and makes you feel so comfortable during each appointment. Also, Dr. Patel's staff is extremely friendly -- they are always so helpful and make the process of picking out new glasses so easy. I highly recommend Dr. Patel!

Dr. Patel and her staff have been my go to for any vision check ups and prescription frame and lens pickups for years and they practically feel like old friends to me - I know when I'm picking out a new pair of glasses they will be honest with me about what looks good or more often than not in my case, doesn't look good! In addition, Dr. Patel is awesome to talk to about traveling and travel tips.Prior to Covid, their offices were already clean and well organized and they were always prompt with my appointments. Post covid, they have reduced the capacity of folks allowed in and also cleared out more things from their store, and also strictly wear masks. Since they already had my information on file, I picked up a new pair of sunglasses from them and was happy to do a bit of catching up on the side.

The optometrist and staff are very kind and helpful with all questions and one of the most sanitary and takes the most precautions out of all places I've been too during this pandemic. Great choices for glasses too. I recommend this place.

I can't begin to express how grateful I am to Dr. Patel and her staff for the excellent service they have provided me for the last 25 years. I have an eye disease "keracotonus" affecting my cornea and she has always taken extra care to make sure my eye disease does not get worse with time. To put icing on the cake, she has been able to help me achieve close to perfect eyesight which is almost impossible! She goes the extra mile and her demeanor has always shown her desire to help with whatever your situation is. I highly recommend her!

My work contracts with Dr. Patel for safety glasses and she does a great job at determining your work style, use and whether you need progressive glasses. She has a nice demeanor, and always so patient. The staff there are equally nice and know their product; they wanted me to wear pink safety glasses jokingly. After wearing my new glasses, I felt my eyes could see through walls, as it was so clear and precise. It's too bad that these are just safety glasses and not Ray Bans, as I would wear these all day long if I could. They also know how to fit respirators with prescription inserts, and were able to get the correct distance and placement of my inserts precisely. If I had to do this, it would certainly not be as good, and would take days longer. I'm glad she's so close and open later hours on Tuesdays. I may change my prescription with her in the future, as she is so convenient.

I went to Dr. Ung at Ami Patel Optometry for eye exams for two years. I got a good impression and felt she was professional and had a good attitude. I was also satisfied after seeing Dr. Patel once for a quick exam to double-check my prescription. The staff is generally friendly and didn't have trouble handling my insurance. Unfortunately, I had other problems with this optometry office, hence the average rating.I'll get right to the most serious problem. Over the course of two and a half years they were unable to make a usable pair of glasses for me. They tried at least five times with two different frames. Every time there was blurriness or distortion. One of my eyes has astigmatism, so I guess that might be a problem, but my other eye has a very simple +1.00 prescription. In any case I've never had a problem like this at other optometrists. I eventually got fed up with using the glasses I got in 2009 from a previous optometrist, so I switched to yet another optometrist (PIH in La Habra). After going through so many problems I was expecting the worst, but actually PIH made perfect glasses for me on their very first try! They removed the unusable lenses from the frame I bought from Ami Patel Optometry, ordered and installed new lenses, and they work perfectly. My insurance hasn't changed and it is the same frame so I don't know what could explain all the problems.Besides the problems with getting glasses from Ami Patel Optometry, I was also unhappy with their attitude and policies about the situation. I spent quite a lot of money here (most was covered by my insurance, but I still paid some out of pocket) without getting anything, but they were indifferent about it. They weren't very sympathetic and gave me excuses. They never offered any sort of refund. Even if they had eventually given me a good pair of glasses I would have switched to a new optometrist.

Have been coming here for over 3 years now. Everyone in the front is very nice and helpful. My daughter goes here as well and like Dr. Patel. She is always very nice and the ladies up front help her find glasses that are good for her.
