No bedside manner. As awkward as it is going to a Gasto Doctor, I would think they would have a bedside manner. There are many doctors in this practice, and they are all cold. Seek your health somewhere else.

great doc, great place, great service. As a physcian I can be very critical. I had a colonoscpy today. What a well oiled machine. The experience through his offiice, the covid precautions, the pre-op, and post op care was perfect. No wasted time. Very efficient. The Advance Surgery Center in Port Jeff was awesome. Anesthesia, the admit staff, nursing, and recovery all did a terrfic job. Thank YouMike

I think this is the worst place to make an appointment. It took hours waiting online for a real person and finally got a real person, but transferred to an automated answering machine. At the end of day, still no appointment set. Find another dr.

Dr. Bernstein made what is normally an unpleasant experience very pleasant. I visited for a colonoscopy and was made to feel as comfortable as possible the entire time. All of my concerns were eased and questions answered. Luckily for me the colonoscopy did not reveal anything that required further treatment. I would recommend LIDDC to my family and friends in the future.

Wonderful experience for my Husband and his diverticulitis. Dr. Bernstein got him the best sergeon and he’s never felt better! Thank you!

Went to Dr Bernstein office for my routine colonoscopy. He is an in-network doctor with my plan. I have the utmost trust in the doctor but when I got the bill from the office I almost fell over. In the past I have not had to pay more than approximately 400.00. To my surprise the bill was over 1000.00. Their surgical center billed 4000.00 for a colonoscopy and 4000.00 for a biopsy. The office passes the buck to the surgical center and the surgical center says oh well that is what we charge. Beware when you go and ask for a pre-determination from your insurance company with a full breakdown of everything that will be billed out. Called my insurance company and filed a complaint. To bad the doctor probably does not even know the billing procedures that his office is doing and how they are treating his patients.

Office staff is incompetent. Sent prescriptions to wrong pharmacy repeatedly, even after I called to have it corrected in my file. Listed a doctor I never heard of as my primary doctor in my file instead of the one I wrote on their form. Recommended a certain prep for my procedure that would be best for me, but when my insurance wouldn't cover it, refused to make a 5 minute phone call to get it pre-authorized.

I and my whole family have been going to Dr Bernstein and now live in Florida. When I need a procedure I fly back to Long Island bc he’s the best . Most caring, most professional and I’ve gone to two different Drs here in Florida and there’s no comparison. My wife now needs a procedure and we’re calling this morning to make an appointment as she’s not comfortable with any other. Thank you Doctor

I have visited Dr. Bernstein 3 or 4 times over the last 20 years. I recently needed to call for some information from my prior procedures. I noticed the very negative experience of one person. When I saw that evaluation, I had to respond.As I said before, I have had several procedures over the years and I have found Dr. Bernstein to be nothing but caring and kind and attentive. They all respected modesty for this already personally difficult procedure.Yes, on my last visit the Dr. had converted to a procedure center rather than the hospital. There was a very slight "assembly line" process. However, I was never rushed, every question was answered, and i felt very comfortable the whole time.When I "came to" the doctor visited me and explained the results of the tests, he did not hurry me -- nor did the staff -- in any way whatsoever. When a biopsy was required for some parts of the test, I was called in a few days about the results.All and all the process was efficient, timely, and comfortable. Frankly, I was in and out -- just like I wanted it to be.Dr. Bernstein is a doctors Dr. I recommend him highly. My only regret is that I have moved away and do not see him any more.
