List of Kevin J Schiller's Reviews
Dr.Schiller is a nice guy but there is no communication with the office or doctor. I had an anemia workup last month. All the tests were back 3 weeks ago. I did not receive an email or call regarding results. Just an appointment to see him in a month if I haven't bled out.
Terrible back office staff - won't refill prescriptions when the pharmacy calls, you have to make every call yourself, and it usually takes more than one call because they never get it right the first time. Staff actually kicks you out if you're sick (even if NONE of your symptoms are "covid-like". Phone system says "call back during business hours", doesn't tell you their hours, then hangs up without letting you leave a message.... What's the point of a phone system that only lets you leave messages if someone's there (and they don't pick up the phone when they are). Dr Shiller is a nice guy, but the office staff makes dealing with him almost impossible... even if you DO get to a room, you're waiting 20-30 minutes before he shows up.
Thorough, down to earth, humble and kind.
Yes, Dr. Schiller can sometimes a bit "more into" his computer and recording device than the patient, but he is fairly pleasant with a decent bed side manner. The office is clean...but my sincere advice is to watch out for the office manager (aka, his wife, Beth Schiller). She can be surprisingly rude, and unprofessional- clearly lacking patient communication skills. Case in point: I am asthmatic, and there was a problem with the Rx Dr. Schiller prescribed for my rescue inhaler. The pharmacy needs to resolve this with his office and insurance. I found this out after calling his office 2 times (the pharmacy line) with no response (they never pick up the phone by the way). The 3rd time, I called the "medical advice" line and left a message again. The Nurse Practitioner called me back and seemed apologetic, explaining she was working on the situation and it will be resolved asap as she understood my distress. I thanked her. All good...until Beth Schiller called me back blaming me for the situation, for calling the medical advice line (I told her I called the pharm line with no luck) and saying it is my problem- it is not their responsibility to resolve it (untrue- the pharmacy said doc's office must resolve it). She was so rude, talking over me, etc., causing me even more distress on top of being asthmatic on a bad air quality day, that I had to make an irritated remark about her communications. She then (get this!) hangs up on me. I called back leaving a message saying that I hope this does not impact my chances of getting my rescue inhaler that I need right away (to supplement the prednisone Dr. Schiller prescribed given the urgency of tending to my asthma). I hope someone in Dr. Schiller's office does the right thing and closes this situation. We can then move on. I will then definitely look for a new doctor- hoping Stony Brook Medicine has a better option. This was the most unprofessional medical office experience I have ever had in my life giving me no choice but to rate the whole thing as poor.
He is fine if you’re feeling well, but not if you’re sick. Recently, I tested positive for COVID and so immediately called for his advice since I had some underlying medical conditions that could cause complications. He simply said to just ride it out and that was it. That was worthless. He should have recommended an antiviral, which are common in 2022, or monoclonal antibody therapy. But no, just ride it out. Thankfully, I went to CityMD, who immediately advised the antibody therapy, which worked out well. But Dr Schiller did nothing. So, it’s time to move on.
I have been more than pleased with Dr. Kevin Schiller's care, he is extremely patient, understanding, kind ,caring, knowledgeable, and goes the extra mile to ensure that you remain as healthy as can be !! I highly recommend and appreciate the entire service provided to me by Dr.Kevin Schiller' and his amazing staff !! kindness and caring is always extended here !!
Have been seeing this doctor a few years. Never been great, spends the time in the room dictating into laptop about you as you sit there. I Canceled an appointment and rescheduled. Showed up for the appointment and they told me there was no appointment and that in fact I had missed an appointment, when I spoke to someone the week before who referenced the very appointment I showed up to. I will not be going back.
Dr. Schiller is a competent, thorough, and caring man who is also an excellent diagnostician. My entire family goes to his practice. His staff is kind and helpful. You know you’re in good hands.
Dr. Schiller is empathetic, thorough, an excellent diagnostician, and consistently on top of his game. His staff is amazingly friendly and their greeting and their office protocol is beyond reproach. I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Schiller
Best doctor ever. Kind staff. Neat office. Very person centered.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
