The worst experience ever! He is very rude, disrespectful and unprofessional! I do not recommend this doctor at all. I wish he quit his job so he can let other doctors do their job professionally! He definitely doesn’t like his job. His behaviour is disgusting. How many complaints does the Hospital need to fire him finally? Or other patients are going to suffer from him?

I left a review on the Stonybrook site. As my husband lay dying and I was in extreme pain from trigeminal neuralgia, he mocked me and dismissed me. This was the worst experience I had ever had with a doctor. I left sobbing. Could not drive home for an hour. Still feeling it after six months. This man is twisted.

I had three MRIs and an EMG test, only to be told, "you will have to learn to live with it." and exited the room. He was extraordinarily dissmisive and rude. He did not listen to me when I asked what to do next. I, unfortunately, asked around afterward only to hear two of my friends had the same response from him.

I will only say that this doctor was uncaring, dismissive, and reduced me to tears because he refused to help me. Never before have I encountered a medical professional who didn’t even pretend to listen or care. No suggestions, no follow up, nada. And I waited six weeks for the appointment. Left in great pain and distress. Had to sit for a while and breathe, before I could drive home.

my dr. referred me for a second opinion, felt completely dismissed with no concern for how miserable I felt. I am struggling daily with my symptoms and have fallen frequently. the medications im on are obviously not working. he basically dismissed me and said there is nothing he can do for me and he would do the same thing my doctors are doing. its sad that there was no compassion shown or even an effort to figure out a way to bring ANY form of relief. he seemed uninterested in my case and it was one of if not the worse experiences i’ve had with a physician. it left me completely helpless.

Same exact experience as Colleen posted before. Repeating will only frustrate me more. He wanted to do an EMG on a patient with CRPS. No encouragement, no emotional support, nothing. Then he said to go to a rheumatologist because of an abnormal MAG SGPG Ab test! He is supposed to be an expert in neuropathy! MED student was more caring and professional! However, I spoke with the office manager, Mary, and she said that she will contact us in hoping to rectify this horrible experience by seeing another doctor there ASAP. We’ll see. It’s been only 2 days now so I will update as soon as I hear. Update: a few months later we needed to return to him as an expert second opinion. He was much more personable and patient, explaining everything in detail to my cousin and myself, why certain treatments are not advisable for her. We were not rushed and he said he would be available anytime in the future. I guess he was having a bad day first visit.

He sent me for one brain MRI to test for ms, and then completely dismissed me when it came back clear. No MRI of spinal cord, no spinal tap, no testing to find out what else it could be causing these symptoms. He was smug and looked bored. He should retire Bc he clearly does not care anymore.

I was recently diagnosed by a neurologist as having Myasthenia Gravis. She recommended that I see Dr. Pourmand. I was very nervous and had many questions and thought I only had a short amount of time to get it all in. Dr. Pourmand took his time informing me about MG and answered most of my questions before I asked them. I feel very comfortable that I’m in good hands with this serious disease.
