List of Louis Bonavita Jr's Reviews
This is one great doctor! Very caring and listens well! I’m a nurse,so impressing me is difficult- we are patients for life.
He is the best there is, the wait times are because HE SPENDS TIME WITH HIS PATIENTS!!!
Bonivita has been my primary care provider for 6 years. He proves that his time is more valuable then mine by leaving his patient sitting in the waiting room for a minimum of an hour past the scheduled appointment time. Then his support staff is rude, and condescending. They do not take complete notes I have to repeat myself over and over. The entire experience leaves me feeling uncared for, with little respect, off test results do not get follow ups, questions about my health care plan go unanswered. I used to be happy going to the doctor, but this guy and his staff have made the entire experience so full of anxiety. I never used to cancel appointments, but due to the treatment from MY PRIMARY care provider and his staff the anxiety sometimes gets so bad I have to cancel. By the time I get to see the doctor and after poor treatment from staff, I might not be the best patient. It was not always this way. So sad how low medical care has dropped. Terrible care team. Day three and I am still waiting for a response to an important health question.
I’ve seen Dr Bonavita since he was at North medical. That was the day I would recommend him, but no more. Recently, I had to have some major surgery and became allergic to my diabetes med. dr. B found a med I could take but my insurance company would not except it. I was told for a year that he was trying to set appointments with the insurance company to find out that it never happened. He also never charted any of my notes so I could not get my medicine. The nurses yelled at me! I left a message when I ran out of the samples that I was given and they never called me back for two months. I was without my diabetes meds for two months. They screamed and yelled at me because I kept calling. Dr. B finally kicked me out of the practice. I was without my meds! Absolutely no concern. Very disappointing. I know Am fighting to bring my sugar down & trying a new medicine with a new Doctor Who cares. My life has been put in danger I’m not trying to get me the medicine I needed.
Hubby and I have been going to Dr. B for Well over 20 years. His bedside manner is great. For us, he's like a friend who happens to be a great doctor. If we don't agree with something, we have good open minded discussions about it it. He's a great advocate when my insurance gives us trouble. If we can't get in right away to see him, we ask who he suggests at CNY Fam. Care and he always gives great advice.
I’ve been a patient of Dr. B for many years He was attentive & helpful. Things changed. After major surgery I became allergic to a major diabetes med. Dr B searched for the right med for five months & found it! After trying samples, I found that my insurance would not cover it. I called the office for almost 2 months before anyone responded. Being without this med caused my A-1 C to fly over 10! The insurance companies suggested the doctor call for a consult/peer to peer. I’ve been told he’s trying for almost a year. He finally set one up but discussed the wrong Med! So now, about 11 months later, I can’t have a knee replacement until my A-1 C comes down and I can’t get it down until I get my med back. I’m in PAIN! It hasn’t been easy with the insurance company, but I managed to get to the director. They were willing to surpass the peer to peer but the doctor or nurse never put any needed info in my chart! I’ve called often and my calls are ignored, even when they are marked priority. Dr. B finally called me back and scolded me, saying that they don’t ignore patients. I tried to explain and thought he understood. I had another nurse call me back and yell at me, saying she is a nurse and deserves respect. This is my life. Diabetes is serious. A1c over 10 is very risky. Nothing is being done. I just received a letter kicking me out of the practice because I’m not following the doctor‘s orders. The doctor hasn’t given me orders in well over a year. He just says I’m working for you kid, but nothing happens. He needs to retire. His heart is no longer in it. I’m so disappointed. I trusted him. Dr B & staff gave up on me.
Dr. Bonavita has helped my family out in so many ways from me, my daughter, parents and brother. His compassion is unparalleled and he is a fierce advocate for his patients. He is a one of a kind class act and top notch doctor and we are lucky to gave him.
Can not say enough good about Dr B! He is attentive, knowledgeable , never rushes you. Always asking what else he can help you with. His bedside manner excels! I trust this Dr with my life!! He just can never retire!!
Had constant belly pain. Went to multiple gastroenterologists who blew me off and told me it was in my head. Saw Dr. Bonavita and he diagnosed me with a blockage in the artery that feeds my intenstines. Sent me to a doctor who opened it up with a stent. The specialist told me if it wasn't found I would have died from dead bowel! THIS MAN IS A LIFE SAVER! Thank you!
He cares and seeks best treatment. If not in his area of expertise, he searches for the best qualified physicians even if out of state. He’s one if a kind. Been seeing him for 10 years. A+

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
