List of Richard Tallarico's Reviews
Dr. Tallarico performed lumbar laminectomy L4-L5 (April 2013) and ACDF on C4,C5,C6,C7 (May 2014) due to my degenerating discs (age 58). I had minor complications after ACDF, losing most motor skills in right arm post surgery. He explained minor nerve damage may have occurred ('stretching') during procedure but most probably would heal, slowly (12 weeks + PT). It healed fine, no issues with my arm motion/strength now in 2022. My neck mobility is Very good despite the pins, screws, and metal plate. no issues with the original burning / tingling in arms. I have recommended him to my closest friends without hesitation. He communicated thoroughly, advised well, and my results couldn't be better! Thanks for being a great surgeon!
With Dr. Tallarico’s help in interpreting my X-rays and MRI, I finally understand what is happening to cause my symptoms and what next steps might be.
Last year Dr. Tallarico operated on my cervical and lumbar spine. His staff is professional, efficient and knowledgeable. He listened to my concerns, discussed the findings of my MRI's and CAT scans, discussed various options available to me. His surgical team was outstanding as well. He only does spine surgeries so has a wealth of experience. Highly recommend him.
Very courteous and professional Doctor Took time to explain surgical options and procedures and did a thorough examination Friendly and very easy to talk to I left feeling very much at ease .
BAD BAD BAD DO NOT TRUST HIM! GO TO ALBANY
Great doctor. He provided the information that I asked and I feel that he cares about my problem I have had for 6 months.
I had become completely disabled by back pain and unsteady gait. I was turned down for surgery at another medical center. Dr. Tallarico performed 2 operations. He was very honest about the complexity, pain, and potential problems. It was indeed a long and difficult process but I am doing well, back to work, and very grateful for his excellent care.

Extremely intrusive, abrasive secretary/scheduler. Surgeon said I had “broken the circle of trust” when I questioned his secretary about my surgery. Not sure what that meant. I found a top neurosurgeon who is certified in using a newer, safer procedure called a Coflex instead of fusion, and I am so glad. Good luck to you.
I hate& curse him every day!! I wish I went to the wake where he operated on a gentleman & he died!! I would of @#*%$@%!! I have scoliosis from his operation, nerve damage, chronic pain, dents in my head from the halo being too tight, that my hair never grew back, a hole in my neck, look hunched back. Feel the painful bars & arthritis has been set in & if he had students do it, that is against the law!!! Do not trust him!! IMMATURE You do not know the hate feeling I have for him! The whole thing is I went for my Lumbar spine!! There is a Nero surgeon in Utica that is willing to fix it! He could send all his patients there except the ones that died. Dr. Qundah! Really MAD!! since 2011. Sooo in pain every day!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
