John Perry Md's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Perry listens to my symptoms, gives time for me to ask questions without interruption. He is very trustworthy. I have 100% faith in Dr. Perry's diagnosis, opinions and referrals. Dr. Perry is also personable and has a sense of humor.

I submitted a question via the EFP portal and was fortunate to fill a canceled appointment opening less than an hour later

Dr. Perry is an experienced and dedicated professional who is very thorough. He retains a command of your medical history and is an excellent diagnostician. He takes a personal interest in his patients’ well-being. He is upbeat and has a warm and compassionate bedside manner that allows the patient to feel cared for and safe. A rare combination.

ZERO Stars, not even worthy of the one-star minimum. After waiting over 2 MONTHS for my insurance-verified, booked appointment, and walking/limping around with a torn meniscus the whole time, Dr. John Perry's office called to cancel my appointment just 19 HOURS before its scheduled time. This was just one day after they called and spoke to me to CONFIRM my appointment! They told me that he had changed networks on the very same day they called to cancel, and that Florida Health Care Plans insurance was no longer within his network... as of that day. (What a load of BS.) If Dr. Perry gave one sh*t about his patients and being a good person in-general, he would have instructed his office staff to not cancel any months-long, awaiting appointments for patients walking around with untreated injuries, just because he didn't want to take their insurance anymore. A decent, respectable doctor would at least offer to provide a quick consultation and recommendation. But all they offered was for me to keep the appointment as an uninsured, full-cost, cash-paying patient, which of course defeats the purpose of having health insurance... and makes it clear that this doctor cares not about his patients' well-being, but only about his balance sheet. So now I get to continue to limp around for another month until my appointment with a better, much-less-greedy orthopedist. Thanks for absolutely nothing, Dr. Perry!

went for knee pain. he looked at xray and mri and said it was arthritis and to keep moving. told me that since the shot in my knee didnt work that the pain was from my back, totally ignored my inability to externally rotate from hip. had a retired ortho, then a practicing ortho lookat the results...outcome was actually a stress fracture of medial tibial plateau (now non weightbearing for 6-8 weeks), and my hip is bone on bone with necrosis. he totally did not (obviously) have enough knowledge to address my concerns. do NOT see him! trickle down attitude to staff.

Dr. John Perry did both of my hips. First ( right) approximately 5 years ago , left a few months ago. My first was done in the hospital and second outpatient. Both experiences were excellent results. Personally if agreeable I will prefer outpatient . After surgery your recovery is about one hour, then you go home. Next morning I was at physical therapy. I have 4 different doctors in my family and they all advised me to go to Dr. Perry. I was a world contender in TKD, an Olympian contender in Judo, traveled world surfing big waves. So unfortunately I have pushed my body to extreme outer limits . I was 59 when I had my first Anterior hip replacement and 64 for my second. I did the PT exercises prior to the best of my ability and of course after. That’s the key for a better overall recovery in my past injuries experiences. After my first hip surgery I was able to loose close to 20 pounds . I felt that made my recovery quicker when I had my second done. I would have flown were ever Dr. John Perry was practicing to have had my both surgeries. Excellent experiences overall.

As a surgeon Dr Perry may have knowledge of procedures he practices. He gives you enough information to convince you that surgery is the best option. As for concern for patients, if you are looking for a surgeon who shows any concern for post surgery pain or discomfort look for another surgeon. Post surgery you get lots of computer email asking about your post surgery experiences, no personal contact. If you call the office and ask for an appointment or the nurse to contact you, you may get a call back, I did not. Office staff is unfamiliar with office procedures. On my first visit "necessary" paperwork was not completed, on my third visit I was told no cost, then after questioning the comment I was told there would be a cost.

Dr. Perry gave an informative, detailed and accurate analysis on my injured knee. I would rate his knowledge, expertise and a genuine concern for my well-being at the highest level. That said, I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for the best in the orthopedic care.

Dr. Perry did a total left knee replacement for me (64 Y.O. male) on May 10, 2018. He is amazing. Four-month post op visit just concluded. I aggressively approached physical therapy (I have ownership in the outcome as well) and as a result I have no pain and 130+ range of motion. The stitches were inside so the scar is much less noticeable than most. His staff was very helpful getting everything set up, so the entire process went without any issues. From the first visit with Dr. Perry and his P.A. Barbara, I was impressed. Dr. Perry and Barbara took the necessary time to explain the procedure and answer all my questions. Dr. Perry and his P.A. Barbara are excellent and I highly recommend them!
