I have been Dr. Barra's patient for over 35 years. He is the same physician he always was. He's professional, compassionate, understanding man and an amazing diagnostician. I have never seen anything like it...he looks at a simple blood test and knows what's wrong almost immediately. Some might say its experience. But, the man is a gifted, born physician, 2nd generation and he could do nothing but continue a tradition that obviously was a Godsend and help patients needing not only medical care, but, a kind and understanding word, endless patience & empathy. I was taken to Dr. Barra when I was sick, I had had 106+ fever. He knew immediately I had viral pneumonia and not the bacterial pneumonia I had been previously been diagnosed and treated for. I left my previous doctor's care and have been Dr. Barra's patient ever since. They do not make physicians like this anymore...he's truly an amazing man and my entire family loves him like I do. He's family to us. Thanks so much, Dr. B!

Dr. Barra has been my doctor for over 30 years. He's a magnificent human being and an even greater physician. He has unparalleled diagnostic skills which are astonishing. His bedside manner is extraordinary. You will never meet a better person nor a better physician than he. There are not enough stars here to reflect the quality of care he renders.

I have been Dr. Barra's patient for 30 plus years. He is an excellent diagnostician, a consummate professional, he has excellent bedside manner and he cares about his patients always going the extra mile to do more than any other doctor I have ever known. He's treated my entire family and all of us feel the same way about him. Dr. Barra was born to be a physician and he has skills, empathy and compassion that one cannot learn. Truly, he is an amazing professional and the best internist in this area.

About a year ago I accompanied my elderly mom to her doctor's appointment. Mom tends to run to the doctor a least twice a month. She tends to get very anxious during her visits. When we were at the office my mom became agitated I told my mom not to worry and to stay calm. She turned to the doctor and said see what I mean. Dr Barra said, I know I see it. It turned out mom was fine. My mother has a history of running to doctors. This has been for as long as I can remember. Since she is elderly I sometimes accompany her on her visits to appease her. I found Doctor Barra's comment very inappropriate and unprofessional.
