Sarah Thompson is that rarest of young physicians, smart, inquisitive, compassionate and intuitive and returns your emails within hours. And if the concept had not completely disappeared from the realm of health care, would still be making house calls. As an internist, she has to keep all the possibilities of a diagnosis in play, plying through the tedium to finally reject one deemed not viable. Not easy work. It is clear that she became a doctor not so much for the deference that society bestows but rather for the good she could do. And Sarah, for her rather tender years is doing much good.
