Karen Hammerman's Online Review Report Card

Racist, was rushed, barely spoke and kept saying I don’t know. Had a very bad attitude. I thought I was the only one who she was racist too until I saw her reviews on google and other places to confirm and same type of review. A certain group of people she clearly do not like and that is very concerning. She makes is very. Her tone was very condescending. I clearly have several skin issues and she kept saying I don’t know and gave me zero solution or advice. Staff was friendly

If I could give this dermatologist 0 stars I would. My mother saw this woman in April, 2022 and she prescribed her a medicine that requires prior authorization. Without the dermatologist's approval, my mother was unable to get this PRESCRIBED medicine. Dr. Hammerman denied the prior authorization. Although my dad was in touch with our insurance and they were just waiting for her approval for full coverage. The insurance ultimately denied the prescription due to Non-compliance on the doctor's end. My dad has called the derm's office multiple times and nothing came of it. Dr. Hammerman did not even give my mother an alternative medication. In the end we had to pay 100% out of pocket for the prescribed medication. What's the point of prescribing the medication then? Why waste our time? My mom also felt that she rushed through the entire appointment and barely communicated with my mother.

Dr. Hammerman is extremely professional, caring and efficient. My questions and any concerns are always addressed and answered in a timely, kind and friendly manner.

I am writing this review because I cannot understand the negative reviews and feel that they must be in error or vindictive. I just left the office after seeing Dr Hammerman. She was warm, knowledgeable and professional. I felt completely confident in her assessment. Her staff couldn’t have been more friendly and the office was nice and extremely clean . Honestly I’m bewildered at the reviews. I am a hard sell with doctors having worked in the medical industry in the past. They are not all created equal. Dr Hammerman stood out and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

Extremely inattentive with no clear direction or guidelines. Vague answers to questions related to care after a facial.

I should have listened to the previous reviews. Well I had and appointment with Dr hammerman everything seemed fine just waiting for lab results until I get a strange phone call about a week later saying no more treatment is needed puzzled because I haven’t gotten any results back yet from the test they said are required to treat me. I contact Dr hammermans office to question why this is only to get a response that she is not in until Tuesday (March 30th.) so I wait for a call or email and receive zero communication that day till I contact them and ask what is going on. The worker responds oh I meant next Tuesday meaning that she wouldn’t be in the office for two weeks. Frustrated I ask what the hell is going on and what should I do now that it’s been 3 weeks since I went to go for lab testing and still zero results and zero communication from Dr hammerman. The workers response was “oh the doctor seems fine putting you on this certain medication without the lab results.” Definitely never again dealing with this office. I would highly recommend not using Dr.Hammerman just my personal opinion.

I scheduled my appointment twice on zocdoc with dr karen hamerman and both time i was told someone else will see me and not dr karen. I find this very unprofessional and misleading. If she is not the one taking me as a patient then you must put the name of the available doctor or PA

She is very bad. I would never go to her again.

Please do yourself a service and visit any other dermatologist . There are so many qualified and caring ones available. I visited Dr. Zimmerman twice to remove some skin growths .She refused both times .She would only do a useless spray on them that did absolutely nothing. I have excellent insurance .I then received letters from my insurance that she had billed them for surgeries for both visits and they paid her quite a bit of money for a two minute visit and spray. Do yourself a favor and go to another doctor.
