Our father recently passed from COVID19 and Dr. Raio was his attending physician at Winthrop. I’m out times of darkness he was gentle kind and compassionate. He took the time and care to explain to the family the state of our father’s health. Due to virus our dad was alone and we couldn’t visit him. We wanted to say our goodbyes and asked Dr. Raio to hold his phone by our father’s ears so we could say goodbye. Thank you Dr. Raio for your patience kindness and bedside manners. Although you were not working at the time that our father passed away thank you for taking the time to inform us of our father’s passing. We are forever thankful to you because we know that our dad was properly cared for and he left us with his dignity. We pray for your continued blessings as you do this very important work that you were called to do.

Nicolas Raio is a brilliant and compassionate cardiologist. As a retired surgeon and Vietnam Veteran Mash Unit Surgeon with the 25th Inf. Div. 1968 theres little I have not seen especially after 40 years of practice and was a Clinical Associate Professor at NYU. I have entrusted my life to his judgment. What higher praise can there be. I live in Smithtown and pass many cardiologists and hospital to get to see him. I recommend him highly.

I wanted to let everyone know he is very caring and very wonderfull to me always greats me with a smile and he knows what he is doing if you want someone like some of these doctors who are rude and dont care about you

He is a incompetent doctor who misdiagnosed my mother that resulted in her having a stroke after being in the hospital for a week. If you care about your loved one dont let them be treated by him.

My husband was hospitalized at Winthrop university hospital. This doctor took over his case and was a godsend He is caring kind and above all compassionate. He was professional and kind. My husband and I are eternally grateful that we found such a wonderful physician to care for our family. I would highly recommend him and his entire group.
