Thierry Hufnagel's Online Review Report Card

Dr Hufnagel performed cataract surgery on me Aug 2021. After the surgery I could not see from my right eye. He could not figure out what was wrong. They kept changing the lenses in my glasses. At one point he put his head on the desk and said he couldn’t figure out what was wrong. I eventually went to another practice where they diagnosed me with a “macular pucker” a disease of the retina. I am now under the care of a retinal specialist. You have Dr Hufnagel under retina specialist. I don’t think so!!! He couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t see!!

BEWARE--NEW OWNERSHIP. Don't read any review posted before January 2022. I've been a patient of Dr. Hufnagel for years and I've recommended him to friends, but now I'm done. He did my Lasik a long time ago (great experience), so I went back when I had cataracts last year. Patient care has suffered as they've grown, and the outpatient operating center was chaotic. Stahl was sold to new owners recently and patients seem to be an afterthought. I spent 1 month before my post-op followup trying to get someone to answer my voice mails and emails about my insurance coverage. The day before my appointment, I finally got someone on the phone who told me they were "on par" with my insurance, but when I showed up for my appointment, I was told they couldn't find my "payer" in the "system" and my option was to pay out of pocket. I walked. I'm sure the sale was very profitable and I wish them luck with their new owners. I'll be contacting them soon to forward my records to my new doctor.

My deepest gratitude to Dr. Werner and Dr. Hufnagel. In January I had laser vision correction and cataract removal in my right eye at Stahl. I see better than I have since kindergarten. This was a seamless experience from start to finish and I could not be happier with the results.

Dr Hufnagel is very knowledgeable, professional he answered all my questions , also has a great sense of humor. The whole staff at Stahl Eye Care made me feel at ease during my LASIK Surgery.

I had PRK surgery at Stahl last month, and Dr. Hufnagel was my surgeon. Before I decided to have the surgery at Stahl, I visited both Stahl and Weil Cornell Medical Center for free consultation. Though Weil Cornell Medical Center is of high prestige and very well-known, I selected Stahl for its atmosphere of professionalism, caring and warmth. I made the very right decision! Dr. Hufnagel is an excellent surgeon, and he did a superb job. I am very happy with my surgery!!!
