List of Tina K. Funt's Reviews
Terrible experience at Schweiger with Dr. Funt. Very poor practice of medicine with absolutely zero bedside manner (I work in healthcare as a physician). I came in for an annual full body scan. Dr Funt briefly introduced herself and began her scan by checking my feet. She gradually inspected my body moving towards my head and placed her gloved hands directly on my face (after touching my feet). Fortunately, I’m hygienic so it did not pose an issue, but still ignorant and disrespectful. Also, my body scan was not thorough. There were definitely large areas that she ignored. She couldn’t have been in the room more than 90 seconds. Please read all of her other reviews on google. I wish I did before I made my appointments. I would give her zero stars if I could.
Longgggg wait. Not knowledgeable. Arrogant. Does not return phone calls or emails. Read all her negative reviews. Why would anyone go to her. Too busy trying to make sure she looks good. Dr. De Mento’s office should FIRE HER IMMEDIATELY ??
Dr. Tina Funt is absolutely wonderful. I struggled with acne breakouts and hyperpigmentation on my face for many years. Even worse was that the breakouts were just getting worse as I got older. After so much time and money wasted with facials, chemical peels and trips to the drug store, I came across some research that made me realize that I was probably struggling with hormonal acne. In comes Dr. Funt and wah-lah! After carefully examining my face during my first consultation, Dr. Funt took her time to explain her findings (hormonal acne indeed). She designed a straight forward treatment plan and made sure to let me know that my skin was going to "purge" or get worse before it got better once I started my trentinoid treatment. She explained that it takes weeks to see noticiable results but to just stick to the treatment plan and promise that I would be very happy with the results in a few months. Three months in and wow! With Dr. Funt's treatment plan (that included both an oral medication and another topical cream I had never had prescribed before), and my dedication to stick to my treatment plan as directed, my skin is better than EVER! Dr. Funt then addressed the hyperpigmentation but only after the acne was under control. I now use very little foundation and when I go makeup free, most folks cannot believe I am not wearing any because my skin is so clear and has this amazing natural glow to it. To anyone struggling with acne or even adults/hormonal acne, go see Dr. Funt & STICK to the treatment plan. I promise, it will be worth it!
Dr. Funt doesn’t seem to care about her patients (at least not me). I was a first timer and asked for a full body scan. She moved me around like a rag doll with abrupt movements of my limbs and seemed to check so quickly, I almost wondered if she actually looked. I had a few questions to ask but forgotten to address some of them because I was so rattled by her demeanor/approach that I was holding back tears. It felt like I was wasting her time. At one point she did a small procedure on my face, and with the mask on, her hand covered most of my nose and mouth, I couldn’t breathe well and had to bring it to her attention. Was she even paying attention to the human under the skin? She may have exponential years of experience but if she ever had a soft touch, she’s lost it. If this was a bad day, I hope she feels better tomorrow. Good luck to the next patient.
I visited the office on September 30 to have a full body scan. Dr Funt barely looked me over, took all of about 5 minutes, didn’t look at the moles i was concerned about. She didn’t use any equipment to examine the moles, she didn’t tell me what kind of moles they were. She saw, what I described as a freckle, she said it should be biopsied. I told her that mole has been on my thigh forever, I’m 76 years old. She convinced me it should be investigated. Ok, let’s do it. Subsequently I never received any results via phone, email call, etc. I finally called and told them maybe the results are in the portal but I couldn’t get in. I ended up being able to view my results that had come in 2 weeks ago!! Negative, as I suspected it would be. I will go to another dermatologist who is more thorough and hopefully has a bedside manner.
Call backs from this practice are beyond awful. She might be a good doctor but service, if I may say "stinks" Been waiting since Wednesday to speak to someone who can give me answers,
I recently went to see Dr Tina Funt in Garden City Schweiger for a full body exam as 3 of my golf buddies all contacted ticks. I explained the situation to the doctor and her associate who was also present and requested a full body exam for myself. Dr funt NEVER examined my scalp, my groin or other possible areas that ticks go to. Guess what went I went home for some reason I noticed a black thing on my buttock and flicked it away . I then said let me check it out . I picked it up took a picture and went online . It was a lone star tick ( that I found not the doctor as she never looked ) I brought it back to the office and made an appointment with the PA who took the tick and sent it for evaluation . Yes it was a tick and thank goodness it was not a lime disease . I was put on a antibiotic for 2 weeks . I found her appointment very unprofessional , and extremely inferior She also cut a suspicious piece off my back and i was wearing a white polo top. When I went home my wife said what is all that blood . The doctor or her assistant never applied an ointment or bandaid to the large cut. Nor did she ever apologize or get back to me with the results ..NO, NADA, ZILCH NOTHING I would not recommend her for anything including a splinter
Dr funt recommended for Dr Sadri to check a lump.on my neck Dr Sadri said make an appointment for a biopsy which when I seen him he recommended a MRI or CT scan which he said I had to get from my internist she refused to give me a script for the MRI or CT scan my internist said Dr sadri needs to give the MRI script to me he knows what I need done I've tried numerous times to call Dr funt s office which they said I will receive a call back from DR Funt in 48 hours 2 weeks later mever received a call back horrible when you have a lump on your neck and cannot get a MRI or CT scan to find out about a lump on your neck
I anxiously waited a couple of months to finally see Dr. Funt. She gave me about 60 disinterested seconds and, even though I had taken a couple of photos of what the condition looks like when it surfaces (I was clear the day of the visit), she had zero interest in speaking with me or looking at the photos. She seemed convinced the rash was from wearing a mask even though I told her I had not been wearing one. She was insultingly rushed, rude and uncaring. Do not recommend!! P.S. Her assistant Darlene, however, was very helpful and sympathetic. A nightmare visit with this doctor after having to wait a long, distressing time for this appointment.
called only my first name without identifying my last name and date of birth - so I was the wrong patient and pretty much threw me out of the room even though the visit had started. Blamed me for answering to my name!! then had to wait about an hour to get in. Dr funt, a real phony, rushed me, dispensed medicine without any explanation of how to use it. Could only purchase the preparations with her. $$$$$$$$ When I got into the waiting room, other patients were angry that they were waiting to long. Front desk start started to talk trash about the patients -Right in front of me How unprofessional. would never go back there. P.S. her photo is very, very, very old. Not upset with seeing someone older, just don't pretend you are still young. Take another picture

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
