The staff at Cancer Institute of LI are kind and professional Dr Hal Gerstein, the oncologist, is extremely knowledgeable about various types of cancer and up to date treatments available; he is compassionate, professional and makes the clients feel at ease.

Dr Gerstein is the best. My husband has been seeing him for about 6 years. He was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer 7 years ago. He started his treatment at a large cancer hospital before changing his care to Dr Gerstein. The experience was totally different. Dr. Gerstein provides a very personal experience. He has provided my husband with personalized treatment, he thinks outside the box, considers his quality of life, he encourages him, and ALWAYS gets back to me. It is very unusual these days to be able to contact your Dr easily. Dr. Gerstein makes himself accessible to his patients and their caregivers. For me, this has priceless. He truly cares about his patients and is very hands on. Additionally, the treatment room is also a better experience. It is a friendly, supportive atmosphere. You get to know everybody and socialize with each other during treatment offering support, encouragement, and casual conversation. There is also a private room if needed. We have been very happy with Dr. Gerstein over the years and highly recommend him.

Dr. Gerstein is an amazing doctor. He is kind, caring, and hands on. He gives personalized care to his patients unlike many doctors. I like that he is involved with all aspects of treatment. He treated my mother for lung cancer. Last year I was in the hospital diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer,. The doctors gave me a poor prognosis and limited treatment options. I then went to Dr. Gerstein and he knew immediately what to do. He literally saved my life and I am now doing well because of him. I can't imagine going to anyone else.
