David Light's Online Review Report Card

Having been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time, I was on auto pilot when my breast surgeon sent me to NYBRA, and Dr. Light. I can’t say that I connected with him right off the bat or remember much of what was said because I was shell shocked. I did everything the doctors told me to do with little feeling at all. The morning of my diep procedure it all hit me like a ton of bricks. I was shaking from head to toe and Dr. Light put a comforting hand on my arm and told me I was going to be fine. I’ll never forget that he held my hand as I was going under and he was holding my hand again when he woke me up from surgery to tell me everything went great. It’s been over four months and I’m not even finished yet, (my choice), but I keep looking at my breasts and how great they look. He’s amazing. Dr. Light is amazing as a physician and even more amazing as a person. I still have to have nipple reconstruction, but I’m not nervous in the least about what they will look like. I’ll be 56 this year and I love the look of my chest. I have recommended him to everyone from Nassau to Suffolk County. Having cancer and surgery sucked but having nice breasts and not having to wear a bra is priceless! Rest assured that you can trust him with your physical health and your emotional health as well. Dr. Light is a gifted surgeon who made the whole ordeal of having breast cancer a little more bearable. His work is flawless and his bedside manner is very comforting and supportive. He obviously cares about his work but he also cares about his patients just as much. He’s a great guy and I’ve told as many people as possible about him. I’m blessed to be his patient.

Dr. Light has been such a god send for myself and my husband. Breast cancer is scary and in situations like that, when your only choice is to trust the dr you just met, finding someone as knowledgeable, gifted and compassionate as Dr. Light was such a blessing. Almost every day I look at my reconstructed breasts and am amazed at how he made them look so natural and attractive. Please don’t hesitate ...

Dr. Light is an amazing surgeon with the best bedside manner. From my consultation with him I knew he was the surgeon for me. Any questions I had throughout the process he answered directly. Not a PA but the doctor himself. All pre-op and post-op appointments were with Dr. Light as well and after speaking to a few surgeons, seems to be uncommon these days. Some surgeons just see you in the operating room, but not Dr. Light. He was accessible and still is. I'm 6 months post-op as I write this review and could not be happier with my breast reduction. Literally the best decision I made was picking Dr. Light as my surgeon. My breasts and scars are beautiful. Thank you Dr. Light for making me happy with my body again. My body is now perfectly proportioned.

Dr. Light’s mannerisms toward me as a patient is everything that I could ask for in a doctor. His calmness, understanding, patience, extensive knowledge, precision, honesty, compassion, attentiveness to detail has been my experience with him. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Light since April 20, 2021, on my first visit, I knew he was “The Doc” for me and there was no need for me to fulfill my other breast reconstruction consultations. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had no idea that I would need a plastic surgeon and didn’t understand why I had to choose a plastic surgeon; your choice of a plastic surgeon is a CRUCIAL part of your physical healing process. I needed a doctor who understood a me as a person, who felt comfortable performing surgery on black women, someone who listened to me and answered my 25+ questions during my appointments. I highly recommend him as a plastic surgeon, I’m extremely happy with choosing him as my plastic surgeon.

Dr. Light is absolutely phenomenal!!!!!

I was referred to Dr. Light at NYBRA plastic surgeons after my breast cancer diagnosis. I was scared and apprehensive about having a bilateral mastectomy., I was concerned about not only my health but my appearance as well. Dr.Light put me at ease by explaining my procedure in detail and answered my questions in a caring and attentive way. I had a great surgical experience ! the office staff are great and I'm looking forward to my next procedure with Dr. Light knowing i'm in great hands.

Everyone in Dr. Lights office makes you feel welcome, cared about and supported. He has an amazing team of people who never forget your name and greet you in the hallway as if they have known you for years. Each and every time I have been there, even with a mask Molly jumps out of her office to spontaneously ask me how I’m feeling today. I was one of the lucky ones with DCIS stage 0. I choose to go thru a full mastectomy. My decisions were respected and supported. Dr light has been nothing but professional and compassionate on every visit and each surgery. While I have never been through this before, I think this office is the gold standard on how people should be treated . If you have to go through breast cancer, the dr light team made the experience not as horrific as I thought it might be. I was recommended to dr light by a friend and I would absolutely recommend this office and the dr light team without hesitation

From beginning to end Dr. Light was incredible! I had previously gotten a breast augmentation from a different plastic surgeon. I had twins, and then after giving birth I wanted to get my breasts re done. I had no confidence going out anymore with a low cut shirt, or even in a bathing-suit. After doing research, I made an appointment with Dr. Lights office. He was welcoming, comforting, knowledgeable and professional. I had new implants put in and a lift. From the moment I got out of surgery, I was immediately happy with my results. It was the BEST decision I have ever made. I am confident and love my body more than ever. This would not be possible without Dr.Light and his team. I highly, HIGHLY recommend without hesitation.

I had breast implants and I was finally done with them, I wanted them out. After doing my homework & research I found Dr. Light (aka My Angel). He was a Dr. that performed implant removal & En bloc capsulectomy. I was super excited to finally take my implants out and have a breast lift. My surgery went well and I looked GREAT!! 10/20/20 was my 2 week PO appt and that's when the dreaded news came, I have BC. This day will haunt me forever but I will forever be grateful that Dr. Light discovered it (3mm on the capsule). Dr. Light was so gentle at breaking the news and guiding me through the whole process. I decided in Feb 2022 to do a DMX w/DIEP FLAP (my results are beautiful). Dr. Light, his office and team are AMAZING!! Dr. Light deserves more than 5 stars!!
