List of Steven M. Erlanger's Reviews
Dr. Erlanger is a great orthopedist. Although there’s usually a long wait in reception area/exam room, he spends time with you and is not rushed. And compared to other orthos, he actually speaks with you and conducts a real exam. He’s given me painless shots that instantly give relief & last for years. He’ll write PT scripts and truly wants you to feel better. Would give more stars if he didn’t make you go through rude assts over the yrs.-Ruth & Rose to make appts and get MRI authorizations.
Horrible service to say the least. I gave it a 1 star only because that's the lowest. Staff members were also unhappy because they receive this constant complaint. I waited for 1.5 hours just to be called in and then 30 minutes to be seen by the doctor, only for him to ask me if my wife had been injured (she wasn't even in the room). He hadn't even looked at the file to know I was the patient. I will ever come back to this place and highly recommend everyone to look at the reviews first as well. Bring. Coffee and board games to keep yourself busy for the wait time.
He should have retired 10 years ago. Recommended 3 orthovisc injections and cortisone for arthritic shoulders. Wasn't sure of exactly where to inject. Now 10 days after last injection and no improvement. Asked for therapy or exercise to do. Never called me back. If you're into pain see him. He won't cure you and doesn't care about you.
Dr. Earlanger is an exceptional human being! Can't say enough good things about how thorough and caring. he was. We need more physicians like him!
good doctor. getting an appointment is not easy -- I've had to call back two more times to try to get an appt when I was in pain. hardly any wait at the Glen Cove office. bring a book if you are going to Great Neck ... a book, snacks, your insulin, whatever. you will be in that waiting room a long time.
No bedside manor. Does not explain anything. His reports are not written correctly. Would never let this man operate on me. He really needs to retire. he cant remember anything . SCARY !!
Absolutely terrible. Today I waited 2 hours for a 5 min visit. I came in with my MRI with a torn ACL. I asked him for surgical advice, being an athlete I wanted to know what the best route would be, his response...I don't know. In addition he never once looked at my MRI. I couldn't wait to get out of there. You never want to see an orthopedist that looks like they need an orthopedist. Horrible beside manner, long waits, and inconclusive advice. Save your copay for another doctor.
Horrible service! I waited for over an hour and a half to see him and he didn't even fix the problem! Not recommended!!!!
Unprofessional. Slow, uncourteous, and uninformative. Actual waiting time was 90minutes. Thats only the first visit. Still have to deal with this guy. I'm sure it'll be just as bad with the coming appointments. I can't help but to think this guy is a racist with the way he treats people. Maybe he's just a senile senior citizen thinking about retirement. This guy is by far the worst ever. He deserves no star rating.
Great doctor.had hip pinning and now back to running.worst ever staff.one in particular Rose.mean and rude

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
