I am extremely satisfied with Dr. Schmitz’s care and follow-up care. As an example, after experiencing vertigo over the weekend I called Dr. Schmitz on Monday to let him know. He told me that vertigo could be a sign of a potential stroke, and urged me to go to the emergency room right away. A short while later we received a call at home from Dr. Schmitz, saying that he had just talked to the ER, was informed that we weren’t there yet, and he wanted to know why. And when my wife came down with Lyme disease and then Babesiosis at the same time, we felt that Dr. Schmitz was way out in front in terms of treatment, directing certain tests at the ER, and generally following up quite often on my wife’s progress. That experience alone has earned him lifelong loyalty from us, even though we live less than half of he year near his location.

Dr. Schmitz has been my doctor for over 10 years and was my husband’s doctor for a number of years. He has seen me through 2 bouts of pneumonia and assorted medical ailments, as well as the loss of my husband due to complications from a bone marrow transplant. Dr. Schmitz is thorough, professional and compassionate without being an alarmist. He interacts with a number of specialists I see and is diligent about making sure I do not forego any important tests or procedures. He is quick in returning calls and reporting test results. Addressing any concerns I might have is done in an unrushed, caring and thoughtful manner. His staff is cordial, knowledgeable and accommodating. I have to give special props to his nurse, Margie, who is kind, caring and professional. I highly recommend this practice.

The most thorough and thoughtful physician. Very easy to talk with and caring.

Dr. Schmitz and his nurse spend a lot of time asking questions, reviewing past history and administering tests. He and his staff provide timely follow-ups and routinely review any tests that should be taken. He and his nurse have a wonderful bedside manner and are able to explain clearly what each test is for.
