Benjamin Chang's Online Review Report Card

My brother is a patient of Dr. Chang for 30 years. Although he likes the Doctor, he did not like the way he was treated by the office manager, Emily. My bother is nearly blind and can barely see. He is also hearing impaired since childhood. They told him to leave because he didn’t want to fill out the paper work that he has countless times before. He can barely see! How can he fill out paper work? They were yelling out loud questions regarding his personal information humiliating him in front of the entire waiting room. They were condescending, insensitive and rude. They deliberately tried to humiliate him in front of the entire waiting room. This is uncalled for behavior from a doctors office. They are supposed to care for their patients, not insult them.

Dr. Chang performed Lasik on both my eyes 20 years ago. Initially I was nervous, so only did one! Never a problem, such a caring and competent Doctor! Thanks Dr. Chang!

Extremely competent

I called in and asked to be seen by a doctor because I have an eye emergency. My eye has an object in it and I don't know what it is and I don't know how to take it out. I can't see out of my right eye. My right eye is producing tears nonstop. I am in a lot of pain. What does the receptionist say? "Oh that doesnt sound like an emergency, you will have to call back Monday." And she hung up. Ok lady. I hope others will read this and avoid calling your office altogether. It'll make your day job a lot easier. You'll be able to paint your fingernails without interruption. Sorry I bothered you! Who are you to deem what an eye emergency is? If I was stabbed in my eye (maybe thats an emergency for you?) do you really think I'd call your office? I'd go to the hospital! I have a foreign object in my eye. I'm not going to hold up other people in the hospital who might have covid for that. And if the doctor is reading this review - I hope you change your receptionist to someone that wont give your office a bad image.

I am very grateful that Dr Chang took care of my husband who was suffering from double vision. It was an emergency situation and Dr Chang acted with great compassion and professional excellence. Highly recommended.

I am very picky with who I let poke around with my eyes (no pun intended). Dr. Chang is simply the best there is as I get older and my eyes aren’t quite what they used to be.

The waiting for therapy it is not too much, the physical therapist changed, NOT so good any more, but the worse, it's that you HAVE to go up and down the stairs outside and Inside VERY dangerous for people with mobility issues. I have not much point from the doctors knowledge and procedures, but the worse is his attitude if you are NOT Jewish or his kind as the office manager. And BE aware of the very old and out of date and dangerous equipment. Never contradict them, because the doctor and the office manager will be always discard any approach. They are superficially nice, but you should know them if they get nasty to patients. It is up to you to give your health to this doctor. Make some research before you trust your health. He will control of the time that your health needs to get better. There are better doctors in a Hospital across the street. Elmhurst Hospital, and it is NOT just ONE doctor playing God with your health. They will treat you nice as soon as YOU obey what ever they do , even with the Insurance. The patience Insurances should audit the way the handles charges, and what he hid under the carpet

Absolutely in and out with my husband and myself in 5 minutes.Did not take any time with us, never explained anything to us, forgot to give me my new prescription. I asked him why my eyes weren't dilated for a more comprehensive exam, & he stated he only does that if he thinks there's pathology. Well, how would he know if there was or was not pathology without dilitation??? I am an RN, and surely know much benter. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone, therefore his Stahl group.

Dr. Chang made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions without talking over me. He has a warm personality

Dr. Chang is very considerate and cares about your health and eyes. He looks over your cart and talks about other medical issues that can affect your eye health.
