Edward Fruitman's Online Review Report Card

I have been seeing Dr. Fruitman since 2004 he has been the first educated, knowledgeable Dr. I've ever seen. I've seen others due to me moving but I'm going to travel 57 miles to go get answers from a Psychiatrist who cares, listens and treats correctly. I will be seeing him for the first time since 2017. I'm going through a lot but I'm in high spirits since I know I m going to get answers.

I called this mental health care professionals office ro ask about services and fees. I found his name and credentials and services on his website. I wouldn't be calling a board certified psychiatrist office during a pandemic if I didn't have serious health concerns. Well I barely got 2 words out of mouth and the uncaring, rude unkind voice on the other end left me speechless and I hung up. This is not a complaint about the dr whom I never spoke to but on the contrary .please tell your staff to be more courteous to potential clients that call your office. Thank you

Very down to earth, knows what he's talking about. Listens. Has adjusted my medication to change my life. Best doc I've seen and I had seen a couple.

My wife has suffered from severe depression for years and has not found any psychiatrists that she can trust. Dr. Fruitman is the first psychiatrist my wife actually seems to have confidence in. She says he really seems to care about her well being and it feels genuine. When issues have come up, his office has been very responsive and accommodating. He also isn't just a pill dispensary. He actually spends an hour with her each session talking to her about her issues and providing her with therapy and providing pharmacological treatments. His practice is state of the art, so he also offers treatments few if any other psychiatrists in provide, including ketamine therapy and rTMS. Because he is able to offer it all, he doesn't seem to push anyone one course of treatment or therapeutic approach like some doctors will. For the first time in years, I am really hopefully that we found a doctor that can help my wife.

I am not here to criticize this dr, I only want to share my experience and let other potential patients decide for themselves. I came here for help with my life long struggle with depression, anxiety etc. Dr gave me a med called symbyax. This med to caused extreme weight gain and pushed me into a full blown mania. Now, this is obviously my reaction to the med, not drs fault. However, when I told the dr that I was NOT acting like myself, doing things that were completely out of character, and eventually destroyed me financially and personally-- he told me, "don't you want to be happy?" That "happiness" was a false euphoric mania and I do believe my concerns were dismissed. He also prescribed phentermine, a drug for weight loss that has serious side effects, without knowing my medical history. Also, administers vitamin injections and Botox in his office. Through this experience, I have become much more of an advocate for myself. It has been a long and painful process to find proper diagnosis and dr that doesn't hand over serious, potentially mind altering drugs within 15 minutes of meeting you.

My husband saw the Dr Fruitman for treatment of depression & ADD. He treated the depression for 2 years but would not address my husband's ADD symptoms causing him have trouble concentrating at work. His advise was to go out on disability. He saw a new Dr and within a week of starting his new medication for depression & ADD his work performance improved dramatically. He is now no longer anxious about work and looks forward to going to work each day.

Very caring, tells you everything you need about the Meds he putting you on.

Very good doctor. Highly recommend dr Fruitman for anyone in NYC. TMS help me a lot with depression. Thank you!

I suffered from low grade depression since my college years. I had 5 very severe episodes of bad depressions, and they are getting worse. My last episode lasted for 6 months, until I changed to Dr Fruitman. I felt better 2 weeks after my first consultation!
