I had a problem with my hearing, I was refered to Dr Vanderweele by the Emergancy room at UPMC. I got me in the NEXT DAY inbetween Surgeries as it was a serious matter. I can't say enough about the Dr Vanderweele, Nurse and Care I was given. If I could give it 10 STARS I would!

I have been having trouble with my ears. I have seen my primary care doctor, been admitted to upmc & had a battery of tests to rule out everything else. I have had vertigo & my ears are painful, leak fluid, crackle, etc. I called Dr. Vanderwheel's office for an appointment. I was told THEY ONLY take referrals. My primary care doctor is in the Philippines visiting her family. But I need a referral. I called an excellent ENT physician in Erie, Pa & he got me an appointment asap. My records were faxed from upmc. The problem? I am not allowed to drive & the transport service will charge 275.00 to go to Erie as the driver has to stay with me. I have been with GLPP, the group in which Dr. VanDerwheel practices for 25 years. But I need a referral. My cardiologist is in this practice & my primary care.

I have been having trouble with ears. Been at upmc twice with vertigo, admitted & have every test known to medical science. I kept saying my ears hurt, they run with fluid & are swollen inside. But Dr. VanDerweele refused appt. My dr is visiting her family in the Phillipines for a month. Perhaps I should fly to Phillipines, get a note from her. Instead I found a wonderful doctor in Erie but the transportation will cost me.

Excellent caring physician. He had great bedside manners, a sense of humor, and quickly got me in for care. His staff has been very friendly to me and there was nothing I’d change about my experience. He quickly identified my issue, after months of other Care providers not figuring it out. I now have hope to get past this and will recommend his office to anyone.

Awful experience. Very unprofessional to call the day before appointment and cancel it on you because 2 weeks ago my child was at his doctors for the same symptoms he gets every 2 weeks so we could get the ENT referral and we didn’t get a Covid test.. so the doctor wanted to make us wait another 2 weeks to see him. Will never recommend this doctor. Found a new one in Buffalo. The office staff is also very rude.
