List of Matthew Quigley's Reviews
He almost blatantly let me die at home with a staff infection for 2 weeks. I have had 36 years of pain and PTSD because of him.He is the most arrogant uncaring person I ever met.I couldn't wait any longer to tell my story and worn others he will let you die and not care unless he is threatened with mal practice and man slaughter. He didn't leave Allegheny General, they got rid of him.I hope he goes out slow and miserable. I ask miss Karma every day to make him pay.
My neurologist sent me to this surgeon in Hope's to help me with the pain I have been having from herniated disc in my cervical and lumbar spine that are pressing on multiple nerves in my spine. I should have listened to the not so good rating and not went to him at all. The PA came in first and asked all about what was going on and went threw the strength test with me asked me if I have ever had injections in the passed. I stated that I was told that it was to dangerous for injections from a spin Dr. in Amherst and in my home town. Told her that I am not looking to mock the pain with shots while the problem worsens I want to fix the problem. She sad Dr Quigley will be in. After a long wait he entered the room and sad I reviewed your MRI you know how we all age everyone's spin degenerates. If I was to fix one of your areas witch one would it be. I sad well I would like both fixed but if I had to choose it would be the lumbar so I can walk sleep do things without debilitating pain. He sad that my back was not that bad just degenerating from age. I asked him why my MTI report sad that I had herniated disc on both areas and that is was unstable and what about the EMG and nurve conduction test thay showed several pinched nerves in both areas Dr. Quigley sad those test are not conclusive (EMG,NERVE TEST)I don't look at them the MRI'S are over exaggerated. I sad why do u do those test then we sad that he didn't order them and would not have. He sad that my back is not that bad . I sad to him this is bad I live with this pain every day of my life and it is bad. He sad I can't help you with anything but pain management for pain shots. I stud up and put my coat on crying feeling degenerated and hopless. Please Do not go to this Dr..
Very rude couldnt answer questions. Seem to be bothered with questions that were asked
I almost died from a infection in 1990 because the good doctor wouldn't admit me to the hospital until another doctor and threats of manslaughter. I heard him arguing with the infection doctor who showed me the infection in the screen. The pain I was having was so bad for 2 weeks after surgery my family tool my guns and didn't know what to do until they called the doctor where I worked .Now I have arachnoditis from all the scar tissue and it was all because of ego .I can't think of any other reason especially after he rang him refuse to admit I had a infection that was clearly on the film..Just hope you don't have any problems after you see him or youll be on your own..The other thing was I was a state compensation patient..I probably wasn't worth the trouble.
Dr Quigley did a laminectomy L5-S1 on me, and released me with no antibiotic. I had fluid pouring out of my back. A local Dr looked at it and said call your surgeon immediately. I have chronic, debilitating pain and it was due to his poor technique.
I found Dr. Quigley lacking in manners or concern. He had a preconceived notion of me and really didn't care after that point of what my syptoms where or listening to me. I left his office feeling like I was on a school yard play ground being bullied. As I stated before his manners where lacking and he had no empathy for his patient. Won't be back to see him again I am making arrangements to go to Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Quigley was very rude and treated me as though what I was experiencing was unimportant. He made me feel as though I was making things up although he only spent about 3 minutes with me . He stated that he found it hard to believe my spinal stenosis was causing that much pain and that everyone over the age of 21 has an abnormal MRI. He did not ask about my full symptoms or talk to me about the diagnosis. Please find a different doctor
I came to Dr. Quigley for a second opinion abouta procedure that another neurosurgeon told me I needed to have done. I was recommended to Dr. Quigley. He was very knowledgeable of my case, and we discussed options I could take in further treatment of my condition. Upon leaving my appointment I was relieved to know it was not as bad asthe other Dr. made it appear to me. I would recommend Dr. Quigley to any family and friends in the future. Thank you to him and his staff.
DR QUIGLEY IS THE MOST COURTEOUS SURGEON I'VE EVER MET. CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS TO HELP EXPLAIN THE DIAGNOSIS AND REMEDY THE PROBLEM THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. EXCELLENT SURGEON I'M STILL HERE AND FINE AFTER 18 YEARS WITH 3 BRAIN TUMORS. HE HELPED ME BE A MIRACLE BECAUSE HE CARES AND HELPS THE PATIENT UNDERSTAND THE FUTURE . SO JUST KEEP FIGHTING THE PROBLEM AND HE'LL BE RIGHT THERE WITH YOU.. THANKS DR. QUIGLEY
We went to see Dr. Quigley in order to seek a second opinion on an MRI that appeared to show a tumor. Dr. Quigley confirmed the diagnosis of the other Dr. and we liked our visit so much that we decided to allow Dr. Quigley to take over the case. He took whatever time was required to explain things to me and to my wife to our satisfaction. His clinical nurse was also a joy to work with and always returned our phone calls to answer our questions. One other thing that we learned was that Dr. Quigley was able to adjust his plans when the conditions of my my brain tumor changed. His concern was for me apparent, even to the point where he suggested some reading to help me understand the statistics behind survivorbility.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
