List of Guthrie Johnson City Physical Performance & Rehabilitation ? Rehabilitation Services's Reviews
I have struggled with whether or not to write this, but after everything our family went through, I feel like our experience deserves to be documented. We brought our baby to Cortland Hospital because she had a fever of 102.6. Throughout our entire visit, I repeatedly told the staff that her fever was not going away. I kept asking what was causing it because something did not feel right to me as her mother. At the time, she did not have the typical symptoms of a respiratory illness. Despite that, we were told that it was likely a virus and/or teething, and we were ultimately diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and teething. We were discharged before all of the testing had been finalized. As we were leaving after that first discharge, we were told that everything had come back normal. Approximately an hour later, we received a call asking us to come back because her chest X-ray was considered abnormal. We returned to the hospital, and we were then told that our baby had a broken rib. From there, our entire experience changed. A CPS investigation was initiated, police became involved, and officers photographed both of our children. As parents, being placed under investigation because of something we were being told was visible on our child’s imaging was absolutely terrifying. They turned a simple fever case into abuse/neglect case. We were eventually transferred by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with diagnoses of an upper respiratory infection and rib fracture. The entire time we were at Cortland, I continued asking the same question: Why does my baby still have a fever? The answer continued to be that it was a virus. At one point, when I expressed that she wasn’t acting sick and questioned why she continued to have a fever, I was told, “She will be, and so will everyone else.” They did administer infant Tylenol twice. Unfortunately, our baby spit it back up and vomited it both times, so she was unable to keep the medication down. When we arrived at Upstate, everything changed again. Multiple radiologists reviewed the imaging and determined that there was no rib fracture. I knew there wasn’t, there was no way she could’ve had a fractured rib. The concern then shifted back to what I had been asking about from the beginning: why did my baby have a persistent, extremely high fever? At this point her fever reached 104.9. Upstate repeated the illness swab and checked her urine. We were told that if those were negative, they would proceed with blood testing. Her urine testing ultimately came back positive for a UTI. Our baby was given a Tylenol suppository because she could not keep the liquid medication down. Within approximately 20 minutes, her fever finally dropped. She was also started on antibiotics to treat the UTI. So after hours of being told it was likely a virus or teething, after being discharged before all results were finalized, after being called back because of an abnormal chest X-ray, after being told our baby had a broken rib, after CPS and police became involved, and after our family was transferred by ambulance to Syracuse, we ultimately learned that she did have a medical cause for her fever: a UTI. The most difficult part for me as her mother is that I never stopped saying that something was wrong. I kept asking about the fever. I kept asking why it wasn’t going away. I knew my child, and I knew something wasn’t right. I understand that medicine can be complicated and that diagnoses can change as more information becomes available. I also understand that hospitals have protocols they must follow when imaging raises concerns about possible injuries. But our family experienced an incredibly traumatic series of events, and the fact that the suspected rib fracture was later determined not to be a fracture made the experience even more difficult to process. I am sharing this review based on our firsthand experience. I am not asking anyone to take my word for anything beyond what happened to our family. I simply believe parents deserve to be heard when they feel their concerns were not adequately addressed. We went to the hospital because our baby was sick. We trusted that her fever would be investigated. Instead, we left feeling like we had to fight to get someone to figure out what was actually wrong. Our children are our entire world. When we bring them into an emergency department, we are trusting the people caring for them with something we cannot replace. I sincerely hope that our experience is reviewed carefully and that steps are taken to prevent another family from going through what ours did.
The girl at the check in counter was very rude, even after I waited over ten minutes for her to fix her computer.
I had a really good experience here several years ago but some of the new staff here are very unprofessional and I was forced to quit my PT halfway through.
Be careful when booking an appointment with Julia Shine or Alesia Fedorchak. They act like immature high school brats and actually make fun of their patients together.
this is what the general public has come to expect from "physicians." How dare I protect my child. He disagrees with me, so that makes me a bad person and a bad parent.
Lied about their staff not being the one talking online about killing president
They need to hire better staff
Some of the employees have openly posted disturbing and violent messages. When confronted about this they LIED about it, took no responsibility and no recourse. I do not trust healthcare providers that LIE and cover up for employees that clearly have violent tendencies and mental health issues. Dangerous individuals shouldn’t be swept under the rug or LIED for. Guthrie Clinics response is shameful. It’s safe to say that they condone the hatred and violent threats posted by employees. Please find a safer provider for you or your loved ones.
They employ people who threaten potential clients with being MURDERED because they have different social/political views.
They hire people who threaten sitting presidents and then hide the racist POS.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
