Susquehanna Nursing & Rehabilitation Center's Online Review Report Card

Absolutely horrendous facility. Individual I visited had friction wounds under her breasts from lack of basic hygiene and or ambulation. I promptly took her to the shower & cleaned her wounds along with a thorough cleaning. Mid shower, a woman knocked on the door. I yelled occupied. They knocked again, I denied entry again. Woman opened door & entered anyways - prompting me that we needed to speak afterwards. I obliged - got individual cleaned up and comfy first. Woman told me per administrative order that I was not allowed to shower this individual. I voiced that I have been helping this woman for years & her condition justified my actions. Woman denied my claim, saying that only aids employed by the company can do so. I told her if I find my individual in this state again, I will not hesitate to repeat my actions. When I told this woman that my individual told me she had only been showered twice within a month, she confidently remarked “we shower everyone once a week”. This reply was met with obvious disgust. I want any of you reading this, imagine only showering once a week… if even. There was quite a bit more to this conversation, this covers the basis of the situation though. Dear administration, Take better care of your patients & employ more aids if this is such a serious concern. I am far more qualified than anyone you have on that floor & to be told off in such a manner is laughable & shameful. Lastly, if you try to call this review defamation, I will not hesitate to edit this review with proof. Thanks.

Walked in to visit the first day after admission - found patient lying flat on her back- choking on her own vomit - no way to lift herself and had her vomit down her and dried on. I had to wash her - and request meds - and file a complaint before my concerns were somewhat addressed . We got accused of lying - even tho we have pics and everything documented, their excuse ? We are “short staffed “. DO BETTER. I wouldn’t leave a dog there . Anyone who HAS to leave a loved one in this place - get them an advocate or advocate for them. Be there . Take pics ! Put an end to the elder abuse crisis we have here . Disgusting !

ZERO STARS if I could. For the sake of your loved ones, I would strongly encourage you to think twice before choosing Susquehanna Nursing and Rehab Center. My experience was extremely disappointing. My loved one was not treated with the care, dignity, or respect they deserved. There were times when they were left waiting for hours after asking for assistance, and it often felt like their needs were ignored. They were not always given meals that matched the dietary restrictions they were supposed to follow, and at times even simple requests like asking for a glass of water were ignored or took an unreasonable amount of time to be fulfilled. What was even more upsetting was that whenever concerns were raised or we spoke up about the care being provided, staff attitudes became noticeably worse, making everyone feel uncomfortable. The place is very dirty and unsanitary. They even STOLE money from my loved one and my loved one also spoke with other residents during their stay, and many shared similar experiences. They were afraid to speak up because they felt they would be ridiculed or ignored if they complained. Hearing that multiple residents felt fearful and helpless was heartbreaking and deeply concerning. No family should have to worry about whether their loved one is being cared for or fear that speaking up could affect how they’re treated. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this facility. I sincerely hope they make significant improvements in the quality of care, communication, accountability, and compassion they provide to residents and their families. Do better.

Went to see a friend there today and she was stuck in the bathroom and couldn't get out. Her room was a mess sheets on the floor, the floor was sticky. No one was around so I went up to the nurse station and two women behind the nurse station were just talking. I told them and they said just a minute I also told them other people need help also there buzzers were going off. This place is discussing, the way people get treated there and this wasn't the first time. Some residents pay over $9000 a month to be there. This is uncalled for and unacceptable. My friend has also fell a couple times and had to be taken to the hospital. She was very badly bruised and had a huge bump on her forehead she whole face was black and blue. If it was my mother I would have a lawyer.

Mom has been there for almost 3 yrs in the memory care unit. Was wonderful at first. Now the staff has all changed. They wasn’t watching how little she ate. Discussed why her extra sandwich and protein drink wasn’t on her tray. Next week same thing! No sandwich or drink. Mom was laying her head on the table and wouldn’t open her eyes or talk. Told them months ago she had a UTI but nothing was done! She was sent to hospital. Now after I complained she is in a private room going through end of life with hospice all because someone wasn’t taking her to the bathroom or made sure she was eating or drinking! Biggest mistake of our life! Needs to be shut down!!

Pray for your life. It's not a place for the weak!

Had a friend who was in there recently for about a month. Very bad experience. Dirty Facility. Workers have bad attitudes toward some residents. Very sad.

Room was dirty very unkempt she was waiting for a bed ! Foot bandage not changed every day!!

My Dad is actively undergoing rehabilitation from an amputation. The staff is excellent and very responsive. My Dad says they give him an incredibly thorough workout daily along w/ changing the bandages. The meals are wholesome. I highly recommend this facility.

The low rating says it all. LPN managers who shouldn’t be managers as they can’t assess. Have supervisor do meds and floor and supervise. One CNA for the floor if that. The LPN with the stretch pants and make up, long nails, sparkly stuff does not dress appropriately for work. The place is old and horribly filthy. Needs to be shut down and just closed. Residents are neglected yet they don’t do anything to keep staff as pay is low also. It’s a nightmare very depressing. The State is useless.
