Longtime patient- thorough care, never rushed, nursing staff also thoughtful and respectful

Dr Amin Elashker is the best doctor in Kingston/ Hudson valley, NY and perhaps the US. No one looks at the patient in a holistic way the way he does. He listens and prescribes the proper medications. He is keen on knowing your medical history and the medication you take to avoid any contra indications/ and drug interactions. He diagnosed me as a pre diabetic, he also found a malignant melanoma and immediately took action to remove it. He saves my life. He is professional, responsible, caring and amazingly empathetic physician. If you need a doctor, he’s the one! Thank you for all you do!

I have been a patient of Dr. Elasker’s for at least 25 years. I love this doctor and person. He is an amazing diagnostician, is incredibly intelligent, and is decisive. These are important qualities in a physician. He is a careful listener, kind and perceptive. Medicine is a practiced art. No one is perfect. But Dr. Elasker gets my vote for pretty darn close. I’ve had many personal experiences of “on the nose” diagnoses. Here are two. My first experience with Dr. Elashker was because I had been so sick for at least a month. Other doctors told me nothing was wrong. But as I lay on my couch with so much pain in my throat I knew it wasn’t in my head. They had done strep tests and found nothing. Then I met Dr. Elashker. After reviewing my blood work and listening VERY closely to me, Dr. Elasker diagnosed me with Epstein Barr Virus and a bacterial infection. Then he prescribed the proper medication. Most importantly, he did NOT discount my opinion or feelings. A few years later, I had been sick and so tired for at least a week. I walked into Dr. Elashker’s office. He had an intern with him. After I sat down, he turned to him and said, “You see her face? THIS is the face of pneumonia!” And just like that he knew. Of course, he again listened to me and did the appropriate testing. But he was right. I wouldn’t trade him for anyone else. I am treated with dignity and respect. Dr. Elashker, you really are the best!

Staff and Elashker very rude - they argue with you and hang up on you . to get refills on any medication it take many calls to the office .You call to complain and you get the dr that screams at you on the phone and when you say no that's not true he screams at you then tells you we are discharging you from the practice .

Extremely rude and arrogant. His demeanor is that of someone who thinks he's some kind of royalty, a pharoah perhaps. Doesn't listen, threatens to dismiss you as a patient if you question ANYTHING he says. Looking at the terrible patient reviews this guy has gotten, I'm surprised that he still "practices" medicine. He apparently married well, as far as his wife's medical family being respected in Kingston. THAT'S the only reason he's still around.

First visit with this MD and I found him to be brusque, dismissive, unkind, disinterested and completely lacking in empathy or listening skills. I will be seeking another MD with whom to develop a relationship.

I had my 1st yearly with him today and have to say I was very pleased. I have health issues that probably can’t be helped but you still need a good primary Dr. to help you through it. I was touched that he very much wanted to do something to help me feel better. That is a very hard thing to come by. I was not rushed and everyone I interacted with was very kind. I am so glad that I found him!

Recently I had to call Dr. Elashker's office as my grandfather was seriously ill. His advice was to bring him to the ER which honestly i 100% agreed with. However, at the time he was refusing and i was trying to get hospice so i called their office 2 or 3 times as his doctor had to send a script to Medicare. His response to me was maybe my grandfather wants to die at home and i responded saying i understand that which is why i am trying to get him help and he said "you want me to do that now, you don't understand as i have 200 covid patients as we were closed in beginning of week" and proceeded to hang up on me. I have dealt with many doctors in my life and this doctor was by far the rudest doctor i have ever dealt with. I understand times are tough. I went through cancer last year with chemo treatment and losing my mom at the same time. So i understand times are tough but at that moment instead of being rude to me, should've treated me with a little more respect.

I presented with gastro-intestinal problems and this quack prescribed Azithromycin, an expensive antibiotic, which made my condition worse. Azithromycin is used to combat bacterial infections but, like all antibiotics, wipes out the good flora in your stomach. After 2 days I stopped because I realized I had no idea why I was taking it. See him at your own risk

You know who's in charge when he's around! No nonsense, straight forward and competent... I'm glad to have him as my doctor.
