Ok, Dr Ambalu is fine. Nice guy, have used him before. Had an appointment yesterday as per my orthopedic surgeon (that’s another story), to schedule a spine injection which I did. When I got home I looked at my calendar and realized made a mistake and couldn’t do that day so I called his MA to make the change. So instead of 8/18 the next available appointment is 9/15. Another month out? Don’t think so! Besides the reason for this injection is to see if it helps my agonizing knee pain that I have after 2 surgeries and my appointment with the orthopedic surgeon is 9/14. That would be pretty stupid to see the surgeon BEFORE the injection is done. Makes no sense to do that. Plus it’s next to impossible to get an appointment with these doctors in a decent amount of time. They’re usually booked 2 months out. It’s a cattle car! Here’s the problem. Dr Ambalu only does these injections in Fishkill and Poughkeepsie but mostly in Poughkeepsie yet he sees patients in Cortlandt Manor and low and behold there’s a hospital right a across the street. Hey! Get him privileges there so his patients don’t have to travel too far to get the medical care they need. Caremount is ridiculous! They claim patients care is their priority. That’s a friggin joke. Get a grip Caremount, patients are not happy the care they’re getting. Start reading all the reviews.
Dr. Ambalu always takes time to listen to my concerns, we decide together what is the best treatment for my needs. He is Knowledgeable and explains my results simply so I can understand. I recommend Dr. Ambalu to anyone who is struggling with chronic pain On a daily basis and is looking to get some independence and life back, I guarantee you will not regret having him as your pain management Dr.
I found Dr. Ambalu to be knowledgeable, smart, genuine, straight forward and attentive. He explained everything in detail and thoughtfully laid out a clear and concise treatment plan. His staff quickly turned around pre-authorizations and procedure bookings. I would recommend him. I was upset to see two 1 star ratings, clearly from the same person, very unfair and inaccurate.
Dr. Ambalu is horrible. I would give negative stars if I could. But, you can’t post unless you give one star. He is judgemental and has no consideration for you as a person. He is a huge duche bag.
I saw Dr Ambalu in Poughkeepsie office at MidHudson Regional Hosp approx 2 months ago. I was told to arrive 15 min early, which is common for a new patient appt. Well....I sat in the waiting room for just about 1.5 hrs. Then I was called into the back by Jean who did my vitals and sent me back to waiting room till he was ready for me. 15 min later I was called into that same room. When Dr Ambalu strolled in there was no apology for making me wait. Nothing mentioned. I have a pretty extensive medical history but my "new patient" appt lasted only 15 minutes. He explained only one procedure but didn't tell me that it could make my symptoms worse or that it probably last only 6 months, if that long and then it would have to be performed again. I will say I give Cindy, his office manager, all the kudos in the world. She is just as kind with the 1st phone call as the 10th...she has the patience that I wish I had! Cindy tried to get me into see him asap, which I appreciated at the time.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
