Excellent
Everything went well since 2012 Doctor Spellman was a excellent Neurosurgeon to me and d he cares about people, thank you for your service Doctor.
I was shocked to read some of the reviews! My husband was a patient, he was treated by Dr. Spellman after his stroke. He had two stents put in! I never had more faith in a doctor. My husband is still here today because of Dr. Spellman.
I have a rare case of double Anurisms, one on either side of my neck in my carotid arteries at the base of the skull making it very hard to operate. This occurred last Aug. 2015 and if it weren't for Dr Spellman I don't think I would be around. His knowledge and patience in handling this situation were just fantastic. My recommendation to him is five star, and my trust in him is ten star. I can keep going on and detail what this man has done for me but there just isn't enough time . highly rec
An amazing doctor
He was eager to do procedure. He did permanent damage from which I'll suffer the rest of my life.
Dr. John Pile-Spellman is a consummate professional. His extraordinary talent saved my life.
Had a totally unnecessary procedure which did permanent damage. When I saw him after the procedure and told him about pain he made it clear he wasn't interested. I've had to see other doctors because of pain he caused.
He was really eager to operate. When my wife and I met with him before possible procedure he told me one chance in ten this would cause serious damage. When I expressed surprise he quickly changed that to just one chance in a hundred. The procedure was totally unnecessary. It did cause permanent damage.
I see Dr. Pile-Spellman has now set up a practice in New Hyde Park. Although Dr. Pile-Spellman seems to be a good technician I discovered he can't be trusted. He caused permanent damage.
his hands are the hands of God.Anyone who complains maybe had a condition that was too far gone.Any question I have is almost immediately answered by either the good Dr. or a member of his staff.Keep saving lives as well as the quality of lives.
I was a patient of his for some time as he treated a vascular hemangioma that had spread throughout my head and towards vital regions over a period of time. He was able to inject me to 'burn' out the vascular lake that was the core of a cavernous hemangioma. He always made me feel comfortable and opted to change to an older method to use a less toxic/ volatile solution for the injections given to destroy the growth. I can only say my experience worked to destroy the grown, it has been close to 10 years since then, and I have had no reoccurrence. However, I now have lesions oozing a clear fluid from my injection sites that is 'testing' to be a medical toxin. I am researching what and how to treat this, I believe it is the byproduct of the injections. I hope to reach out in a blog to see if there are others suffering from the effect of these injections.
Dr. Pile-Spellman put me thru an unnecessary procedure. He left me in permanent pain.
Dr. Pile-Spellman saved my life and is a caring and blessed man. I thank God for him being there the day i was brought into the emergency room. Thank you Dr. Pile-Spellman!
I told Dr. Pile-Spellman of pain after procedure. He made it clear he wasn't interested. The procedure was unnecessary. I wonder if he wanted to do because I had a good insurance policy which would pay him.
I will probably have to take Lyrica and other meds for the restof my life because of what this doctor did to me. I alsosee a pain doctor regularly.
I recently received a letter from this doctor that he was joining a private practice in Lake Success. I assume he left New YorkPresbyterian hospital to make more money in private practice. He recommended an unnecessary procedure when he was stillat the hospital. I assume that he'll now do even more unnecessary procedures so beware.
Over 10 years ago I had an aneurysm on the right brain stem that bleed causing a total loss of hearing to the right ear and leading to a stroke that left me partial paralyzed on my right side of my body including the entire right side of my face and right eye. The doctor's total embolization of my arteriovenous malformation was, according to another neurologist and neurological radiologist nothing short of brilliant. The blood in my brain was eventually re-absorbed by the body, the facial nerves (80%)regenerated and I regained full use of the right side of my body.
I had an inoperable aneurysm in my cavernous sinus in 1992. Dr. Pile-Spellman had just started at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital and did a coil embolization of that aneurysm after approval by the FDA and NY State. A second coil embolization was done in 2004. I have been fine with no ill effect. I am forever grateful. 18 years later I am still in good health and of course alive.
He's a good technician but can't be trusted. Here's just one example. He operated on a possible cerebral fistula.THe procedure was unnecessary. In addition he told mebefore the procedure that he wanted to lower the temperatureof my brain. I asked him if he recommended this. Yes, hereplied. When his assistant asked me to sign permitting thisexperimental procedure I declined. He said that was wise since it would have added an hour to the procedure.I don't like a doctor I can't trust
