Would not recommend. If you go to him, get a second opinion. There are other options other than surgery.
A patient recommended me to Dr. Holtzman, she was so grateful to him for finding out the cause of her illness. I went to him desperately to find help. I have no words to describe the experience I had with him. He is a complete gentleman. He is more than a great doctor, he is a great listener. Real doctors spend time to look beyond the medical reports to understand the pain and suffering that patients are going through. I am grateful Dr. Holtzman is one of them.
Excellent Surgeon and person too. He’s not just a Dr. or Surgeon. He takes time to talk to you and gives you the real expectations of the outcome. In my case he took time out of his day to speak with me before and after surgery several times. He actually cares about his job and patients. The surgery was very risky, but I had absolutely no complications. I would recommend him to anyone with in need of a risky spinal cord surgery. It’s been a year and I’m getting better and better.
Nicest Most caring doctor I have ever met and I fully trust him when it come to my dibilitating spinal issues facing possible major surgery. Even if God forbid something went wrong. You trust your doctor and it’s my decision it’s not exact science but I’m going to say yes when he tells me we are moving forward for sure 100% A very good man! Trust me I been through it and he has put a piece of mind in me I have not had since 39 procedures and 2006 ago!
Do not believe him or his office . He starts off congenial and then when you are two months in, they change the hospital you thought you were going to, office visit waits are around an hour , because maybe he spilled soup on his tie! True story. They only do authorizations on Thursday, so if you have an appointment on Friday and are in pain, tough luck, you wait a week! Twenty minutes before the surgery he tells me he will not be doing the entire procedure because Medicare will not pay for it! I should have taken my husband out of the operating room, but could not think fast enough to do it. What he put my husband thru was totally unprofessional. Another point, after the surgery he calls you on the phone, does not come out to meet with you. As for post op care, ha, he came to see him once at the hospital. Just a horrible experience.
Dr. Holtzman is amazing. He’s helpful, friendly, and a Fantastic person and doctor. He helped my husband and overall is a very knowledgeable and intelligent doctor. Whoever needs the help of a neurosurgeon, I very much recommend Dr. Holtzman.
He operated on me after I was terrified to submit to the neurosurgery.... I was on the table 6.5 hrs bc it was more complicated than expected.... he was beyond amazing.. I never needed PT and I was walking ASAP after being confined to a wheelchair for almost 18 months prior !! My excruciating pain disappeared almost immediately and I never needed any pain meds post op !! An amazing human being as well ..takes his time .. answers all your questions.... is very through and I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else!!! When I think of how he changed my life post op I get emotional!
Just an outstanding doc all around – caring, thorough, compassionate beyond what we've seen with other surgeons. Highly recommended!
Superb doctor!
One of the best! Thank you!
Caring, detail oriented and wonderful doctor. He's much more than we could have hoped for, and we highly recommend him!
I've been treated by Dr. Holtzman since 2006, and I assure you there is no better, more methodical and sincerely compassionate doctor in his field. He's one of the rare doctors who will give his patients access to him day and night, his skill is undeniable, and I owe him my life today. Thanks Doc!
After several unsuccessful surgeries with other doctors, Dr. Holtzman performed a miraculous operation on my herniated disk, and completely restored my quality of life. I cannot recommend him highly enough! He's patient, he listens, and he treats all of his patients equally no matter where they're from. Thanks for all of your hard work, Doc!
Outstanding surgeon. We'd seen two other doctors for our mother's traumatic brain injury, and Dr. Holtzman was by far the most competent, sensitive, and talented surgeon we saw. We owe our mother's life to Dr. Holtzman. Thank you, Dr. Holtzman!
Dr. Holtzman is amazing. I fully put all my trust in him. He is very thorough makes sure surgery is the right fit for you. I would recommend him to anyone. You will wait to see him but it is worth it.
Racist and cold hearted. Oh and he lies. Be very careful when dealing with this snake. And btW they only post good reviews because I know plenty of people who felt the same about this monster.
the doctor started out being very cordial , but as the visits went into overdrive it turned out that the office policy for authorizations was completely not acceptable(being done only once a week) and as a patient in pain, a total waste of time. The original promise of the hospital was changed two months after seeing the doctor. The final insult was 20 minutes before surgery to be told that he could not do one of the procedures because Medicare would not approve it, leaving the spine vulnerable!
I, for various reasons, had to have multiple back surgeries. He was always caring and available and even if it took until late in the evening, always saw me at the hospital and stayed in his office until the last patient was seen. I highly recommend him.
Dr Holtzman is a brilliant doctor. He is very caring and easy to talk to as well. I highly recommend him. Helen L .
