Guy Bassis's Online Review Report Card

I had a breast biopsy done by this man and it was the WORST pain I have experienced in my life. I have had children and multiple surgical procedures, but the pain I experienced by this biopsy (I’ve had a few prior without any pain) was excruciating! I almost passed out and was shaking for hours. He knew the pain I was in, didn’t show any concern and never came back to check on me. I suffered pain from this procedure for over a year. DO NOT LET HIM NEAR YOU!!

If I could give zero stars, I would! I had a saline Sonogram Scheduled with Dr. Bassis and I’ve had one done before (by a different Dr.)and tolerated the procedure. The moment he inserted the speculum he wasn’t being the most gentle and when it came time for the catheter insertion, he was not concerned with my level of discomfort and I stated to please stop being so rough, he proceeded to tell me “I have no control over your sensation”. Who says that???? This man had horrible bedside manners and was not being sympathetic towards my level of pain. If you need anything invasive done, DO NOT LET THIS MAN TOUCH YOU!!! A chief complaint will be addressed with upper management.

Don't trust the results!

Yes they are fancy and since they have numerous locations and tons of unqualified medical staff you will get a speedy appointment. The fact is twice Zwanger has miss read my sonogram results, sending me for further unnecessary invasive exams and emotionally destroying me. They miss read my pelvic sonogram and as a result my doctor scheduled me (under age 39) for a partial hysterectomy. Thank god I work with QUALIFIED doctors myself and went for a second sonogram at NYU a week later and there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with me. I also had a thyroid sonogram and when COMPARED to the previous sonogram done at the same location, IT WAS ALSO MISS READ!!! Sending me for a completely unnecessary thyroid biopsy. DO YOU EVEN LOOK AT THE PASS RESULTS YOU ARE COMPARING TO? At the biopsy the technician and treating doctor noticed they read my two previous nodules as one making it look like it had doubled in size when in reality it had not changed at all. DO NOT TRUST THESE SO CALLED PHYSICIANS, they are nothing more than a money hungry meat market. Maybe you should spend less time buying fancy pens and bags and more time brushing up on your medical skills.

Dr. bassis performed a breast biopsy, he kept me calm, his staff is competent and helpful. Everything was explained to me perfectly.

He performed a BRUTAL breast biopsy which left me with a very large hematoma. 1 year later I had cancer in the skin site where he inserted the needle several times. DO NOT LET THIS MAN TOUCH YOU!

I had a very brutal biopsy done by this Dr. . The hematoma was very large and caused problems during my mastectomy. 1 year later I developed cancer at the skin site where he entered the needle in several times. He was supportive when calling me to give my positive results but I wish I did not use him to do my biopsy . I am sure there are other physicians who will use a gentler approach. I had never had a breast biopsy before and did not realize the complications that could occur. Do not use this Dr..

I saw Dr. Bassis at Zwanger Pesiri, so I can't address the office and staff questions. Also, my session with him was diagnostic, so we weren't at the point of making decisions.

Considerate and gentle. Dr. Bassis performed my biopsy and I did not feel any pain . Of the many, many doctors I have had appointments with before, during, and after my breast cancer surgery, Dr. Bassis is the most sincere and courteous. I strongly recommend every woman to have their biopsy performed by him. I called Zwanger-Pesiri to find which location he would be at before making my appointment. I would have traveled to the moon and back to have him!

I had an awful experience with a stereotactic biopsy, which I feel was unreasonable pain and he had a disinterested bedside manner. His assistants were very nice and attended to my bleeding and obvious distress bc I was faint. The assistants appeared to have concern and were making every effort to comfort me.I asked more than once why I felt so much pain intense pain and nothing was done. Fortunately, the second breast wasn't as bad as the first one. I will not go back for another biopsy with this doctor. I have spoke with several other women who have not had the same experience at all. I had hematomas as well that took well over a month to resolve. .We even compared pictures. Night and day. I have to go for a third biopsy and am much happier already with the approachable doctor and nice bedside manner.
