I noticed someone was upset about the waiting time to see Dr. Rutledge. I view it as a good thing. It tells me that he will take the time necessary to properly treat his patients. I saw a very qualified eye doctor before but he would not communicate with his patients. Dr. Rutledge does. I feel very fortunate to have him for an ophthalmologist.

I am a 4-month post-op vitrectomy patient of Retina Vitreous Surgeons of Central NY. Dr Rutledge was not my assigned surgeon but was present for my first and several of my post-op office visits. I found the entire office to be efficient and helpful. Dr Rutledge was supportive and kind and knowledgeable. As far as I am concerned, the entire staff are a bunch of "rock stars" who saved my vision and I will be forever grateful. A very high quality team. Their website was also very helpful. I would suggest the website add some info about post-op positioning; I did find their office nurse was helpful when I had followup questions after arriving home.

I came to Dr Rutledge with a rather retinal detachment. He promptly diagnosed me and got me into surgery the following morning. He was professional, compassionate, thorough in his explanations and made me feel comfortable in what I was about to endure. He performers a vitrectomy and repaired my retina and saves my vision. I will be forever grateful. RVS is the only place to go for retinal problems and I would recommend Dr. Rutledge to anyone.

Having to wait three hours to see Dr. Rutledge is not acceptable and outrageous. It is understandable when emergencies occur, but he was obviously over scheduled the day I visited.

Long waits at times because pupils need to be dilated, but worth it. The third doctor I have seen for my condition, and finally well explained answers that I trust.
